It's amazing seeing people argue Awval must be smart cause he's rich. Sound familiar?

I am smart. But not rich. All I simply want are my student loans gone (only $45k left) and to pay off my little house. Have a family. Continue to travel the world.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust a burger made by someone who'd been awake for 28 hours, I definitely don't want them giving me medical help. It's crazy that that's just an accepted part of being a doctor.

Don't want to derail this thread but as someone who just completed residency and had to do a 28 hour shift every 4th day I'll just say that there are positives and negatives to both systems (the other being what we call a "night float system" where someone works days and another person works nights). In the night float system you increase the number of hand-offs which can lead to increased errors / unintended changes in care. Also with the 28hr call shift system as a physician in training you get to see how a patient's condition evolves over time as a result of the interventions you put in place which sometimes is really good for learning. Not saying either is perfect since by the end of a 28 hour shift your judgement / propensity to make errors is definitely suboptimal but to say that the choice between the two systems is obvious isn't true imo.

Americas obsession with fame is really crippling. Takei is awesome on Twitter but what on earth makes him qualified to run for office?

How about we have someone in office with some actual qualifications? God forbid a scientist, sociologist, urban planner, statistician, economist or even historian.

For some reason America has decided the only job that requires no experience is the one which is arguably most important.

IIRC, we've had financial planners in this forum who didn't understand how marginal tax rates worked.

It's really amazing he can't stop twitter. His supporters don't even like it. Is anyone still a fan of his tweeting?

Sleepy Eyes Chuck sounds like an old-timey mafia nickname.

Do you even MAGA bro?

Just when you think Trump couldn't be more embarrassing.

I'd love it if this Chuck Todd referred to "fat wig-wearing strangely orange Trump" as a reply. He's probably decades too old though, sadly.

"Financial planner" is the lowest rung on the financial services ladder. This is what people do for a living when they want to work in the financial industry but can't pass the exams necessary to be an analyst or something else more difficult.

Hilary and Donald making an April Fools announcement today that the whole thing has been greatest joke of all time. President Clinton and Bill move into the White House.

One time......

You had a far better chance of all those things happening, had the non-moron become President. You essentially rolled the dice on a mentally unstable dementia patient, in the hopes your marginal tax rate might go down a few points. Pretty terrible risk-reward choice for a guy with an advanced degree.

just to re-iterate a main theme from this thread, OBVIOUSLY this russia story is just a huge distraction from the real issues facing normal everyday americans like awval, and nobody in the trump admin faces serious consequences for potentially treasonous actions. i mean, just look at the tweets, this man clearly has nothing to hide.
04-01-2017 , 10:25 AM
I like that he calls himself "Fake Trump".
04-01-2017 , 10:26 AM
LOL

god the people who voted for this clown can never endure enough shame for their horrible, horrible judgment
04-01-2017 , 10:32 AM
Words don't matter for his electorate or his side of the aisle in that clownshow congress, but they will eventually catch up with him when he ends up in front of a judge. His best words killed his immigration monstrosity and it will eventually do the same to his so-called presidency.

Yeah, that's why it's really important not to humor awval when he puts on his Big Boy Political Pundit hat and starts talking about how bad things are bad for Trump, but good things would be good for Trump.

awval, you personally voted for him. You preferred him to Clinton. To take you at your word where the only thing you care about is middle class tax reform, that means you soberly and 5 on AP calculusly weighed the cons:

1) Open white supremacy
2) Muslim ban
3) Mass deportations
4) Deregulation of industry
5) Widespread corruption
6) Sexual assault confessions
7) Repeal of Obamacare

vs.
the pros

1) IDK maybe like $600-$800? Definitely not more than a grand.

and you confidently, enthusiastically, pulled the lever for The Donald. After spending months crying like a little ***** whenever anyone insulted him or hurt his feelings(whoops really should've had the self control to avoid that if you wanted to play "view from 10,000 feet"-man after the election).
