Am I crazy to think that it feels like the endgame is being set up this week? All the evidence that's coming out, they should be close to being able to flip people who can make it all come crashing down?

That's funny, I got the exact opposite feeling from today's hearing. We aren't close to any direct proof on collusion, and we can definitely expect this kind of thing to not only continue but probably ramp up in 2018 and 2020. Unless there is a strong response from the United States, Russians have basically found out that not only can they do this, they can get away with it too.

Watts almost certainly has a terminal illness if he's willing to say these things. After all, assassination is a way cooler way to die than cancer.

Because he libels people all the time.

Someone needs to explain to him that libel laws are state laws, with the minimum level of speech protection set by the 1st Amendment. Trump is literally saying that we need to weaken/amend the 1st Amendment.

Someone with a ****ing law degree or a good HS govt. teacher needs to sit down with him and explain the insanity of his libel "talking point."

And you know Trump supporters would love weakening the first amendment. Bet there are people dying to get a Lčse-majesté law in at some point.

I didn't see the senate hearing yet, but are they setting the stage for Trump as some kind of stooge who just happened to click some wrong links and post some bad retweets?

The message to these Senators (House is already a lost cause thanks to Nunes), particularly the GOP ones, needs to be, "Look, I know this worked out for your party this time, but it might not next time, and your election could be next." That's a powerful message that at least SHOULD get people's attention.
03-30-2017 , 05:07 PM
Yeah Senator Ingus King (I) said something directly to that effect today. I don't know if it took effect though, Sens. Cotton and a couple others seemed to be still playing politics today. Then again maybe they were hacked by the Russians and have been compromised too.

What is an example of a piece of journalism that should not have won a Pulitzer Prize that did, and which should have won instead?

Nunes should literally go to jail for what he did and lying about it
03-30-2017 , 05:27 PM
Why would trump go to jail for breaking a law? He's broken a bunch of them and that never happened. Can see getting sued to oblivion in the civil courts tho, but he won't lose his entire fortune as he'll get it moved, he knows how to do that stuff.

I knew he'd keep going after freedom caucus as he's too impatient and authoritarian.

One of the two guys who helped nunes worked for him before, so lol them for trying to hide it.

Form over substance.

"On my first day of work as the editor in chief of the New York Observer, which had been acquired five years earlier by Jared Kushner, now the son-in-law and senior adviser to President Trump, I inherited an office and a desktop computer, both in fine but used condition. The computer was a recent-model Mac, but when I turned it on, it was inexplicably running Windows. I summoned our beleaguered IT guy to explain, and he informed me that it had belonged to Kushner, who liked the design of Apple products but preferred the Windows OS."

Fake news can be effective. A poll released earlier this week found that 74 percent of Republicans now believe Trump’s evidence-free claim that his Trump Tower office “were wiretapped, or under government surveillance during the 2016 presidential campaign.” When House Intelligence Committee chair and former Trump transition official Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) made a clumsy attempt to validate Trump’s claim last week, the story was quickly amplified by Sputnik and RT.
Trump and his campaign were the American propaganda arm of Russia during the election and Russia still supports this dynamic.

Lew can't name a single news organization he deems credible but he is bashing Pulitzer.
