I don't know if I agree with all of that, but anyway hurting the interests of those in power is what needs doing. Resist and obstruct.

You could try, you know, joining. Any chance of you maybe picking up the phone and calling your elected officials?

I plan on calling Claire McCaskill on Monday and offering my support for her rejection of the Muslim ban. She is in a tough spot running for reelection in 2018 in a state that Trump won by 19. http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2017/01/...s-refugee-ban/

And here's the scene at Dulles.

They should have come here LEGALLY.... oh wait they were here legally until Daddy randomly decided they should be illegal while they were off on vacation and that is good enough for little ol avwval. **** the lives they built for themselves here while doing things the right way and contributing to our country.

But don't say avwal is an unsympathetic guy, he just really wants his buddies to get a raise which is a sympathetic thing, so much so that he is willing to **** these other people over and have them randomly detained in airports and deported for no reason. And he is willing to tolerate a whole lot more, as long as US CITIZENS don't get rounded up. US CITIZENS is the new gold standard he really seriously promises not to cross after he leap over the LEGALLY hurdle in just one short week. He super duper pinky swears that he won't fail to clear the astonishingly low bar he set for himself and make any exception for "scary-looking" US citizens.

Pretty good chance avwal is at an airport right now with a sign that says "go home sand n******".

I feel like the most devious part of this is the "case by case exceptions". It gives Trump and his collaborators the ability to say that it's not all that Draconian and unfair, while the practical reality on the ground right now in airports around the world is that airlines are refusing boarding to passengers with passports from the seven banned countries. This stems from a tradition that airlines are responsible for the entry of their passengers into destination countries.

So while we're hearing cases of people who are held in airports being released, which I of course applaud, it needs to be made very clear that this is likely a very temporary solution, and the reality on the ground is that likely many thousands of people with legal right to enter the US are stranded.

What's more, those stranded people may well be in countries with a limited duration of stay, visa obligation to leave on a particular date, etc. The citizens of these countries are very visa restricted.

awval was legitimately heartbroken when Marco Rubio called Trump a con man. Like, he couldn't handle the effrontery of such harsh language.

Daddy Trump repealing the first amendment, well, get over it libtards.

"Case by case exceptions" is also antithetical to the rule of law. Laws which are selectively enforced are the favorite tools of repressive regimes.

Precisely this. We will take as many refugees as we can, and we will be stronger for it.

Remember how subfallen posted for months about how smart Thiel was in his support of trump? The same Thiel who said to not take trump literally on his Muslim ban comments? Loooool sub.

Look.

I disagree with the scope of the Executive Order if it includes current US permanent residents like Green Card holders.

And even among those tasked with implementing the ban, confusion reigned. US Customs and Border Protection officials received conflicting information about whether the executive order applied to US permanent residents. The White House ultimately declared the ban did apply to lawful US permanent residents, though green card holders could apply for a waiver.

While you're googling "Name" divestment maybe you would have seen articles with titles like TRUMP SAYS WON'T DIVEST FROM HIS BUSINESS WHILE PRESIDENT for ****'s sake
Won't divest? He hasn't even resigned yet.

i'm imagining clergymen and southern preachers interrogating applicants to see if they actually ARE christian and not fake lying muslims trying to game the system.

Awval, you're still Quisling even if you want to qualify Muslim bans shouldn't apply to green cards.

Well it does and I said that earlier and your response was "I don't have to defend it"

Anyway, I grew up and moved to the City. And when I mean City, I mean the CLE. Yeah it's not your New York or Los Angeles, but from where I came from it's something special. I am so happy to be living here.

Not all of my friends and classmates moved to a City. Some did, my brother did, he lives in Chicago. But many are still at home. Working on a farm. Or in a crappy job. Or running their parent's small business which is passed down.

I voted for Trump because he is the literal living Molotov cocktail thrown at the Establishment. Not everyone is going to be able to be a professional like me. People need a job at the factory. To make something. Or do something.

Liberals want to raise the minimum wage. They believe $7.25 an hour is an insult. And yet they allow the proliferation of trade agreements to send jobs to ****ing Mexico where the wage is twenty pesos an hour?! Do you want to know why Trump won the Midwest and with it the general election. Watch the Michael Moore video.

If he fails he fails. I will be fine anyway. And my hometown will just vote again for another Molotov cocktail again. I voted for Trump for them.
