Interestingly, despite the Dvault-led partial-consensus here, Maddow has been going hard to the paint on Russia Woodward and Bernstein style. She's bird-dogging it, including the relationship between Russian banks/FSB and Putin and Trump. I don't see here giving up, 60-80% of most shows lately have been on Russia. Same chairman Nunes has canceled all hearing and the intel committee's regular weekly hearing. I'm 60% sure the piss tapes are real at this point. Regardless of the stupidity of the house committee, the FBI (the intel part, not the NY/Giuliani field office) gonna be following the Russian trail methodically.

Also, Wilbur Ross being vice chair of Cypress bank with a Russian oligarch is shady as hell. I knew a decade ago that Cypress was a favorite money laundering spot for Russians, online gambling.

I click between her and CNN. I do Enjoy her show as it to me is a more mature presentation of journalism then jeff lord on cnn doing verbal gymnastics to defend every move trump makes. I am in strong disagreement with the dvaut side of the argument which is probably why her show is my favorite with anderson cooper coming in 2nd.

The thing the proves his guilt to me besides all the obvious connecting dots is simply his behavior. He instinctively acts like someone who is guilty and backed in to a corner, its blatant at this point to me.

The "no narrative" talk is annoying. Maybe there isn't a narrative the politicians can spout and the media can repeat, but "The President got elected with help from Putin and got paid to ease sanctions" is a hell of a story. It may not be true. It may not be provable even if it is true. But it's a story everyone is interested in. It's got everything: money, spies, murder, and pee-pee.

Nunes said that without actually realizing that he omitted that they are basically doing 2 different investigations. He says "of course the dems dont want me to be here, i get to the bottom of ****" not realizing that he is saying that he is investigating the wire taps and not the trump russia connection.

I feel like they're rubbing it in our faces. Nunes isn't even trying to make this look like a real investigation any more. That's something authoritarian govt's do to wear down the opposition, just make your lies as open and public as possible. Everyone knows the authoritarians are lying but who can stop them?

I found out last night that this is her third gig on cable news. Next stop must be Russia Today.

I agree that I'd prefer hot models to present these news shows, or at least, idk, be a part of the shows somehow like maybe prerecord segments where they're standing in front of a green screen infographic in a tight short dress like Yanet Garcia. But I caught Greta's show on msnbc a couple times and, while boring, I thought she asked some good questions. She's not a democratic advocate, but she's not a conservative advocate either so I'm not bothered by her. Aside from, like I said, maybe they could show footage of bikini beachball in the corner, next to a countdown clock to Rachel's show.

I can't understand why Fox isn't burying MSNBC in cable ratings, just look at all the red in Tucker Carlson's title card graphic. In this historic week he's been mainly doing shows focused around crime by immigrants and minorities. It's what America needs!



Edit: interesting that Brett Bair, who does pretty straight news, is pulling better ratings than O'Reilly and Hannity.

This is very dangerous stuff imo. Fear-based racial propaganda is devastatingly effective for ratings - and mobilizing people to do much worse.

Even sites like FoxNews and Breitbart know they're playing with fire if they go all-in on scaring white people (ala Stormfront or Council of Concerned Citizens). It's like they're sitting on a nuke and we hope they have the discretion not to use it.
