I hope he wins and they award him his Oscar first. Then everybody gets up and leaves, and they broadcast an empty stage for 4 hours.

The Rs will just get rid of the filibuster for SC nominees.

Is Mexico the only country to call us out so far? We need strong condemnation from western democracies sooner rather than later.

Trump won because of racists in the Midwest who are scared to death of a terrorist attack for no good reason. Those people indicated immigration and terrorism, two things that barely affect them, were their primary issues.

Those of us who actually have some contact with immigrants and are actually at risk of being attacked by terrorists voted for Clinton.

**** is backwards and unbelievably frustrating.

One reason I believe the filibuster will remain is that it overwhelmingly favors the donor class. The filibuster makes major reform difficult.

Green card holders are apparently being let back in under a special waiver to the executive order.

McConnell said no to that this week. AFAIK it's difficult to change the rules at any point after the beginning of the Congressional session.

It's crazy to see that Trump actually really believed all the bull**** he was spewing on the campaign trail. I thought he was just playing to his base but it's looking more & more like he was 100% honest. This immigration ban will blow up in his face real fast though. No way he can keep it in place for more than a couple of weeks. Pressure will be too big. I hope he finds no loophole to exit from it in a way that doesn't make it look like a massive failure.

Banning refugees will soon be a moot point when Americans flock to Canada to seek asylum.

This is noteworthy: “The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies over American law.” What constitutes “supporting” the Constitution, especially considering that our own president has an ambivalent relationship with many of its amendments, including the first? How is that to be judged?

I remember when Trump first proposed his Muslim immigration ban in December 2015 and hearing it discussed endlessly on the television screen. Everything seemed to be about “us.”

I was no longer just who I happened to be; but a member of a group that was being debated and dissected as a potential threat. We had become a problem, and all problems need to be resolved. In the coming four or eight years or perhaps longer, we will find out what, exactly, that means.

Can you imagine if he instructs the justice department to arrest and jail HRC?

Man, all those people who bought those pocket Constitutions sure got ripped off. None of that **** applies anymore.

Are you ever aware that you are being manipulated while it is happening or is it just a nothingness.

That you think there is something so urgent we need to figure out what is going on is so silly.

Remind me again what bad things have happened from letting people from these 7 countries in?

Has there been even 1 terrorist attack on US Soil done by someone from one of these 7 countries in the past 40 years?

SMH @ "find out what the hell is going on"

There are 75.000 German citizens who are dual citizens of Germany and Iran, who have to keep Iranian citizenship, because Iran won't let anyone give up that citizenship.
Some of them were born in Germany, some of them were communists who fled persecution by the Shah, some were Western oriented and had to flee the revolution.
All of them are being treated this way, that's what's going on.

Everything plays to the base. And if you aren't the base, too damn bad, we won.
