Does anyone watch The Five regularly? Have you noticed how all of a sudden they're talking like they have a lump in their throat? They're freaking out.

Yeah, turns out we have to defeat fascism every four, or even two, years.

Woh man this quote

Quote:
Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) admitted as much as he left the meeting Friday. Reporters asked why, after Republicans held dozens of nearly-unanimous votes to repeal Obamacare under President Obama, they were getting cold feet now that they control the levers of power.

“Sometimes you’re playing Fantasy Football and sometimes you’re in the real game,” he said. “We knew the president, if we could get a repeal bill to his desk, would almost certainly veto it. This time we knew if it got to the president’s desk it would be signed.”

Wait he said Obamacare's imploding so now it will explode? Trump's understanding of physics is breathtaking.

Sickest read. Bill Mitchell definitely bluff-calls and checks back the river with the nuts for deception.

We're living in George Orwell's 1984. Facts don't matter. And I haven't even read the book.

Obamacare is like a supernova. First it has to implode and collapse and then it can explode and kill us all.

Why would any rational human being trust any Republican plan over Obamacare at this point
Well, bakes, the same "rational" humans that put these clowns in office and believe they're working for them in DC and not their corporate lobby.

We have to keep in mind that America's government is very complicated to those who haven't grown up in it. I'd run out of digits before counting the amount of times I've had to explain the EC to people in Europe only to have them leave with an even more confused look than they had before asking.
Can't you explain it like this: Imagine if the countries in the EU got "EU lawmaking votes" in relative proportion to their population, plus two more. Then whenever something came up that needed to be voted on in the EU, each country would let their people vote and the country would put all of it's "lawmaking votes" toward the side that won.

It was 100% obvious that this wasn't going to make insurance "better" which is supposedly what the populists want. If you could read any analysis on the bill it would have told you that. It was to cut taxes. You could say that he wants to "dismantle the administrative state" but then he'd be supporting the Freedom Caucus, who want to cut all the regulation out, not against them.
Yeah, none of this has made any sense.

Quite powerful from one of the faces of FOX News:

My instincts tell me Bannon was against the bill because it was unpopular and he thought it was a poison pill for Trump, moreso than any ideological orientation. But it's hard to tell with Bannon, he's a tough shadowy figure.
03-24-2017 , 07:26 PM
So when do we get the balanced budget or any budget at all?

If democrats refuse to vote yes on anything...

Bannon wants government to fail doesn't he? The GOP being this incompetent is probably making him very happy.

Guys, I need an argument for why men should help pay for maternity leave...and there was a post here that addressed that and I can't find it. I think there is an insurance term for that...?

1. Men should get just as much leave
2. It should be family leave, not just maternity, as it should be flexible to use on, say, an ailing parent.

I guess the main difference between Koch and Bannon/Mercers is immigration? I'm honestly not sure. The Bannon stuff seems to be centered almost entirely on racism with very little policy details. He said he wanted to spend a billion on infrastructure. I have also seen the Harvard Alt Right guys talking about how single payer healthcare is good, we just need to get rid of minorities.

I agree...but I'm looking for the term that explains why I pay taxes for public education when I don' have children (which I'm happy to do).

I could've sworn this was called something...

Koch's are going to be mad at bannon for making their 2018/2020 efforts that much harder. They'll likely have to spend $10B next cycle.

Somewhat buried in the news today.

Woolsey wants to clear things up before people start getting arrested.

Might be time for Flynn indictment watch thread.
