We have to keep in mind that America's government is very complicated to those who haven't grown up in it. I'd run out of digits before counting the amount of times I've had to explain the EC to people in Europe only to have them leave with an even more confused look than they had before asking.
Electoral College system is pretty straight forward compared to numerous Euro systems. Proportional representation is always complicated.

Gabriel Sherman writes that White House chief strategist and former Breitbart News executive chairman Steve Bannon has privately expressed concern that the American Health Care Act (AHCA) betrays the populist voters who put Donald Trump in the White House.
From New York Magazine:

The failure to repeal and replace Obamacare would be a stinging defeat for Trump. But it would be an even bigger defeat for Paul Ryan, who has all but staked his Speakership on passing this bill. And in the hall of mirrors that is Washington, the big winner to emerge out of the health-care debacle could be Steve Bannon. That’s because Bannon has been waging war against Ryan for years. For Bannon, Ryan is the embodiment of the “globalist-corporatist” Republican elite. A failed bill would be Bannon’s best chance yet to topple Ryan and advance his nationalist-populist economic agenda.

Publicly, Bannon has been working to help the bill pass. But privately he’s talked it down in recent days. According to a source close to the White House, Bannon said that he’s unhappy with the Ryan bill because it “doesn’t drive down costs” and was “written by the insurance industry.” While the bill strips away many of Obamacare’s provisions, it does not go as far as Bannon would wish to “deconstruct the administrative state” in the realm of health care. Furthermore, Bannon has been distancing himself from the bill to insulate himself from political fallout of it failing. He’s told people that Trump economic adviser Gary Cohn — a West Wing rival — has run point on it. (Bannon did not respond to a request for comment.)

...eh it has twice as many comments as everything else on there.

But, the again, he seems to take a real interest in posting in politics given that it seems he was born yesterday. But, like Kant, people can awake from dogmatic slumbers (ok, probably not much like Kant).
Maybe, but he mentions Hitler literally every post. That is what is setting off my alarm bells.

Either that or he just woke up AND read some stuff about Hitler and is just seeing newfound connects everywhere but color me skeptical.

I am seeing the newfound connects. Things that you saw before me.

I completely understand the electoral college. I don't know whether EC is a good thing or not. There's arguments for and arguments against. Voter fraud is an argument for electoral college, cos that way for ex. voter fraud in California affects only the Californian electoral votes.

I mean for sure California had Hillary winning clearly. It's just that was it 61 to 31, or was it actually something closer. But we might be splitting hairs here, cos I don't think voter fraud is rampant.

Are you referring to him visiting the White House? If that's true, I'd like to know what the hell is going on. Is Comey a good or bad guy? Is Trump a good or bad guy?

What the hell is going on?

After Mnuchin bragged about Trump’s stamina and overall fitness, Allen asked, “Given his diet and exercise, how does he pull that off?”

“He’s got perfect genes,” answered Mnuchin, silencing the previously laughing crowd. When asked to elaborate on the strangely eugenicist comment, Mnuchin only repeated his claim that the president is “unbelievably healthy.”

F U democrats and all you who voted for democratic representatives. You are to blame.

Trump said just now there is nothing anyone can do about Obamacare now and it is because you people voted in representives who all refused to vote for this good bill.

"Obamacare is imploding...and soon it will explode!"

LOL

Thank god I wasn't playing the Trump says 'explode' drinking game

Isn't it a pretty big misstep for Trump to blame (give credit to) Democrats for this bill's failure?

Republican voters are going to say, you had the House, the Senate and the White House and failed. Democratic voters are going to say, "GREAT JOB, DEMS!"

Breitbart comment section is like talking to someone with schizophrenia. There are a few general themes:

Trump good.
Ryan/Corporate Republicans bad.
Muslims bad.
Minorities bad.
Women bad.

Everything else is just word jumble. Like if you programmed a robot to record all political tv shows and then mix sentences together. No wonder Trump is so popular with these people.

Imploding and exploding, nice

On the one hand, you'd have alcohol poisoning... On the other, the ACA would still help you get treatment for that.
03-24-2017 , 04:55 PM
So like that they are just done and moving on? 7 years and a **** ton of talk and they are going to walk away. I don't understand. Like why not take the time and create something that will pass? The fact that they insist it will "implode" and they are willing to let that happen, says a lot about our government. .

It's almost as ludicrous as the doctor's note but to call that comment eugenicist is quite the stretch.
