On a side note it should be pointed out that the premise that women "take advantage of" maturity leave with the implication that these women are cheating companies is only because maternity leave benefit currently goes through individual employers at their discretion. If the benefit were to go through the state then the disruption to the individual company would be minimal and women wouldn't be taking advantage of it any more than someone claiming a mortgage interest deduction is.

It never happens though because just like Trump supporters with Whataboutism or Republicans and actual policy discussion their only moves are to deflect and attack. The next intelligent defense of the AHCA on any level I read will be the first one. So don't talk about policy because it means you have to take responsibility. It's one of my peeves with some non voters because some simply don't vote because they don't want to be responsible.

The ONLY counter source presented with a straight face is Trump himself which just causes things to self combust because you can't have a legitimate discussion on anything with someone who can't recognize Trump as the lyingist liar in liarstan.

So we don't talk policy, we don't actually have any sources of information we use outside of memes because they are too easily discredited. Then we just bring up Obama or Clinton when things get too hot. Not sure why people don't understand why we get indignant after we do all these things because nobody treats us seriously. I mean we could act like adults but still...

Just go to Wapo's website. It's embarrasing. If you MUST have sources from me that I have a modicum of respect for, I would go with Reuters & AP. Compare Reuters home page (US section obv) to Wapo's, for Christ's sake. One is professional and one is clearly rabid activist.

And, if you are looking for a defense of AHCA from me, you will be disappointed. As presently constituted, it's garbage.

Do you not see what fallacy you are guilty of? Where did I claim everything I don't agree with is biased? I specifically said that I'm not a big fan of a few news sources that I think are biased overall, not that everything they've ever written is wrong. That would be a pretty silly position to take. I am many things, but I don't think I can agree to being "intellectually ignorant." I am intellectually curious, if anything.
