I can't even get that wrapped up in Gorka's affiliations with fringe groups, because there seems to be a lot of people questioning the quality of his expertise. The fact that he's another Breitbart/Bannon guy and obvious Trump sycophant doesn't help. His Twitter page could just as easily belong to some unemployed dropout. Trump is at least consistent with the type of people he surrounds himself with...
For his position though, I'm not sure whether it would be better for him to succeed or fail. Part of me wants to see him just fall on his face and put his incompetence on display, but given his position that could be pretty bad for all of us depending on the situation.

That's a pretty bad take I think, unless you're maybe talking about some extreme slice of the far left that would probably be better described as iliberal. Had Trump run and won as a Democrat I'm confident that the far left would be far less forgiving than his righty backers wrt his approach toward credible press agencies, the courts, and choosing unqualified fringe types & billionaire insiders for important agency positions. It's harder to imagine maybe, because there aren't enough true counterparts on the left to position opposite of today's right-wing nonsense. And then, what would a Bizarro World Lefty Bannon be, for example? What would be the evil liberal policy equivalent of a Muslim ban? I think the left is much more appreciative of the need for things like checks and balances regardless of who is in power.
But again, I'm assuming you're not referring to some ultra- or alt-left type thing. We definitely have some of that, but there's no way our crazy slice is anywhere near as wide.
