OK, I read it. I get what you mean by his mind being gone, but I'm talking about a total breakdown, not really functioning anymore. Making **** up and chasing his tail seems like classic Trump, mostly.
You should watch it. He looks like he's losing it.

Is there a term for arguments that are just a facade? Like, when waterboarding was going on, all these people were loudly arguing that it was not torture and therefore OK. But the reality is, all those people were fine with torture. The argument was just designed to avoid having to discuss the issue.

Yeah I think he is definitely cognitively impaired and is going downhill. I've seen interviews with him from 10 or more years ago and it's like a different person talking. He used to be relatively coherent. He's gotten much much worse.

Interesting twitter thread I came across that discusses some of his more bizarre recent statements in terms of cognitive impairment:

I will at some point. I suffer from anxiety, am not doing great today, and am prone to absorbing the moods of others. I don't particularly want some unhinged idiot gabbling at me.

I think this has been said already, but if the Wall is to be paid for by what is essentially a 20% tariff on Mexican imports, one of the many results will be a downturn in the Mexican economy, which is liable to increase undocumented emigration to the US. It would be doubleplus ironic if the effect of the Wall was to increase illegal immigration.

Less than a week in and we're talkin' total meltdown Orange clown. How on gods green are we going to survive 4 years of this? I don't see it. Dark days.

Definitely will find out if the country can run itself with no leadership whatsoever.

Man, I was just reading a comments thread on NRO (don't ask) and now my jaw has bits of fluff on it from the carpet.

I think there is something being missed, here. Trump is a deal-maker, a negotiator. You don't start from the "reasonable" position and argue from there, you start off with "unreasonable" and let yourself be negotiated to the "reasonable" position. The Democrats have been negotiating like this for decades. Republicans, on the other hand, have always started from their ideal middle ground, having already ceded the other side several points.

It's amazing how both sides believe in their heart of hearts that they've been too lenient with the other.

Trump speaking to gop today, see if you can spot the exact moment he says **** it I'm going off script and am going to start making **** up/lying.

I mean, look at this guy who found someone who says "It's so freeing not to have values!" (he's a conservative who's saying the GOP left him behind).

So Texas legislature now holds a bianniual Let's Sh*t on Islam Day, or the forum to look into Islamic Extremism. So the big deal this year are Sharia courts and one reporter asked if they'd be holding hearings over extremist Jewish and Christian courts. The woman is a former state rep. Lol.

dude, you simply arent paying attention.
I saw it and it basically tells us that people are stupid, which is a age old insight. And there is nothing at stake for them by lying about inauguration numbers. I agree that some are to far gone, you do always have those. But there is also the human tendency to abandoned loyalty as soon as things go south. This is survival instinct.

The point i wanted to make yesterday is this: Democracy is at stake, if convincing some bullheads might save it, it might be worth a try.

Donald didn't pull close to Obama's primetime ratings. He did do as good as Chicago Fire. Could someone see how that compares to the old ratings of Celebrity Apprentice?

Quote:
The first primetime interview with President Trump after his official ascension to the office — as opposed to the interviews conducted when he was President-Elect — didn’t set the Nielsen charts aflame. In Nielsen’s preliminary ratings, President Trump’s interview with ABC News’ David Muir on Wednesday night drew a 1.7 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and 7.5 million viewers on the whole, winning the night but well short of President Obama’s first primetime interview after taking office in 2009.

Obama’s first primetime interview — as opposed to a televised press conference or late-night talk show appearance — on March 22, 2009 notched a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and drew a total audience of 17.04 million. Now, circumstances for Obama’s first primetime interview were a little different: His interview was with CBS’ “60 Minutes” — and the episode aired after CBS’ March Madness coverage, giving it a solid lead-in (that it built on considerably). For a more modern comparison, President Trump’s interview on Wednesday garnered about the same preliminary rating as that of Tuesday’s “Chicago Fire” episode that aired in the same 10 p.m. hour.

Chicago Fire.

Trump "Yeah that's the plan"

Chicago, a sanctuary city that's already said dgaf to trump pulling fed funds + ties to obama + will never vote for him ever

Is it a coincidence that's the city he's talking about being worse than middle eastern war cities?

If he sends the feds in and wins there + philly, every other city is just gonna give up. Nobody's gonna outdo that level of toughness or snark.

This same indifference that helped Trump carry the election has continued into the early days of his administration. With it comes a refreshingly freeing state of mind. Personally, I don't feel in any way responsible for Trump, nor do I feel compelled to defend him against attack.

Why? Because I voted for retribution.

"He's think-skinned and petty!" shrieks the left. "He takes everything personally!"

Good, I say. I want him to take attacks personally and deal out payback. I know I won't be the target, you will be.

"He's unpresidential! He'll destroy the integrity of the office!"

No, that's already happened. Remember, you elected a ****-talking jackass who takes selfies at state funerals when he's not giving stealth middle fingers to his opponents during debates. There is no dignity of the office, not after Clinton and Obama.

"He's a narcissist! He's got totalitarian impulses!"

Yes, he's basically a mirror version of Obama. Except now, he'll be working for what I want. The end justifies the means. You taught me that.

"A sitting president going after the media. OMG!"

Oh, like Obama trashing Rush Limbaugh and Fox News? How about when he sent his lackeys to berate news reporters for failure to flatter him at all times. Oh, and NSA spying on the press. That was pretty great, too.

"He won't show his taxes!"

Don't care. Where are Obama's college transcripts, by the way?

"He's a bully! Is this what you want? Someone who uses his power to bully other people?!!!"

And this is where everything funnels down to the very nexus of my change in attitude from "Do unto others" to "I will do unto you what you do unto me."

It's two words: Memories Pizza.

It was that moment that everything changed for me--not only the harassment, fake Yelp reviews and the death threats that forced them to temporarily close up shop--oh, that was bad enough, but the most powerful man on Earth bullying a couple of small town pizza owners from Indiana simply for expressing an opinion on a hypothetical asked of them by a reporter with a malicious agenda? That was when I snapped.

Do you remember?

It's this that sent me to a place from which I'll never return. I literally don't care what Donald Trump does because nothing he can do is worse than what they've already done.

Donald Trump isn't the bully; he only insults and abuses people in power who have attacked him. They're the ****ing bullies. The left, with their smears, their witch hunts, their slanders, their insults, their riots, their violence, and their weaponizing of the federal bureaucracy.

There aren't any rules anymore because the left only applies them one way. And in doing so, they've left what once was a civil compact between the two parties in smoldering ruins.

I have no personal investment in Donald Trump. He is a tool to punish the left and roll back their ill-gotten gains, no more and no less. If he succeeds even partially in those two things, then I'll consider his election a win.

Further, I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I'll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because **** these people.

This new philosophy has freed me of more emotional angst that I can describe. Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don't care about their tantrums. I don't care about their accusations. I don't care if they say Trump is lying. I don't care if Trump is lying.

They created this Frankenstein. They own it. I am free of all obligation. I will never play defense again. I will attack, attack, attack, attack using their own tactics against them until they learn their lesson.

What I will not do is let them play my values against me ever again. I don't need to prove that I'm better than them. I already know it.

My sister is an immigration attorney in Chicago. It's going down.

p.s. Lol I realized the colloquialism might not be familiar. 'It's going down' means the fight is happening and the sanctuary will win, not rolling over and losing.

still havent found an intelligent form of life that voted Trump

Good thing trump only going after criminal illegals.

Bad thing being undocumented counts as being criminal by their definition.

I like the guy named the two presidents who flanked w as the reason the office of the president has lost respect.

Pretty sure that was a repeat of Chicago Fire too which means the ratings for Chicago fire were substantially lower than a first run episode would have been.
