“Maybe rather than getting that new iPhone” Americans “should invest in their own healthcare” - Rep. Jason Chaffetz

By the way all these DREAMers who were brought to the US when very young, typically not by their own free choice, also not immigrants?

Of course they are immigrants, but Sam Jackson and many posters here are pushing ideas that they would not fall into that category.

Do you classify people born in the US as immigrants?

don't confuse dreamers, who are born outside of the USA, and those born inside the US to an illegal immigrant mother, who are not dreamers.

wonder what this was about. Hadn't heard this in awhile. The old rule is it's true when the gov't denies it so *shrugs*.

Crossing state lines isn't gonna increase competition, it's just going to have all insurance companies all from the one state they get the benefits from.

Nothing in healthcare bill has anything to do with drug prices.

and the rest is just whatever bs he saw on TV or read on whatever he gets. WAAF

Hornbug, what exactly is the context that changes the meaning of this sentence fragment from Sessions?

" I did not have communications with the Russians."

Checkmate liberals.

Emigrating with your family = LITERALLY SLAVERY

It's basically gutting medicaid and a lot of other important parts of ACA (individual mandate, benefits caps, and some others) in order to fund a giant tax cut for millionaires and billionaires. That's all this bill is. Plus it seems like the "continuous coverage" thing is intentionally designed to get people to stay uninsured until they're very sick and make premiums skyrocket. It's a total nonsensical bill unless you look at it as primarily a tax cut for the rich.

So? That's really not inconsistent with anything in the book, the tiniest bit surprising, and could be my fate as well.

Why are you mad at Thoreau?

Cliffs: Thoreau is teh suck.
I see. It's because you're crazy. ; p

It's a good thing our economy doesn't thrive on frivolous consumer spending.

Minor children immigrating as part of a family is exactly like being sold into slavery, you nailed it. I bet Sam Jackson will feel pretty dumb once you drop that logic bomb on him.

I imagine einbert loosing his phone in a world ending nuclear event. He finds a new phone but forgot his twitter pass cuz he was auto logged on the old phone. Everyone at twitter help is dead except for one rep who is 1000 miles away. He must travel THE ROAD to find the rep, get logged on and make his life whole again.

In the very sentence you pull the fragment from he mentions his sometimes being called a surrogate. Pretending he was replying in this sentence fragment to an unasked question like "have you ever had a chat with Russians about any topic at all?" is clearly dishonest.

People aren't dumb, when the media and others push these misrepresentations it becomes not incorrect to call the WaPo a fake news provider and people like Pelosi as dishonest.
this is obv wrong and not how the english language works

when he mentioned that he was a surrogate of the campaign, he was establishing his credibility and appealing to his own authority.

in essence, he was saying that bc he was a surrogate of the campaign, he would have had interactions with the russians if the connections were as extensive as these lol libs allege.

That the poors have cell phones just rustles the **** out of the jimmies of Republicans and others who hate the poors. Remember how Obamaphones sent their lawnmowers into orbit. You can tell they perceive it as a dangerous luxury good which is absolutely nothing a poor should even think about until they've conclusively earned through bootstraps through cleaning their yachts or something.

I'm not getting confused, I don't think it matters what that word means as I believe in decency etc - which evidently you don't.

I am confused as to what you mean though, it sounds like being born in the US means that you are not an immigrant (however you define it). If so, then what about someone who is born after 1 month in the US? I assume that the same. What about a 13 year old? It seems to matter so much to you, I was kinda interested to see where you draw the line.

Just for the sake of argument, accepting that these situations are comparable, would you be against a path to full citizenship for someone who was actually forcibly removed from their country into the US and made to work for nothing?

It's part of the pattern, these people are perpetually stuck in the 80s. "inner cities are war zones" and "cell phones are crazy extravagant luxuries" etc. etc.
03-07-2017 , 11:40 AM
Yeah, people don't seem to think these things through. Go without a cellphone to get health insurance, first of all health insurance for a year costs a LOT more than most people spend on a cell phone. Second of all not everyone buys a new iPhone every year, a lot of people couldn't even do that if they wanted to. Third of all, you go without a phone, now how are you supposed to get a job, take calls from work, or call your boss to tell him you're going to be sick that day and can't come in. It's just this total fantasy world.

In the 80's it was totally standard for conservatives to be mad if a black or Hispanic person had a VCR.

It's no surprise, but the construction of that Russia tweet is lol. The guy who put the pee in president should hire a competent editor.
