US Foreign Relations Committee are the guys who would conceivably meet with a foreign ambassador (and it would be on the books and for a specific purpose).

And if said ambassador is known to be their chief spy and top recruiter, you might want to shy away from him altogether... or you know... invite him as your guest to your party's convention... whatever's clever.
Wow he put out a lie of an excuse that's not even very plausible. They must be so incredibly guilty to be this desperate/making this many unforced errors.

Cliffs is that Obama used the formal deportation process more than anyone, but drastically scaled back use of the more common informal deportation process.
Fixed your typo because I really want to make sure this post is not overlooked.

Didn't work on anything "substantial" related to foreign policy with Russia = DID WORK ON SOMETHING RELATED TO FOREIGN POLICY WITH RUSSIA

"If you use the Russian definition of meeting, then..."
"You speak Russian?"
"I get by, I can say meeting..."

No one as bad at lying as Carter Page should be on television.

Yes I know Russian and have been going there since '91, but also no Russian person ever talked to me.

Seems weird for Page to keep going out in public and answering nothing. Is it possible he's just an attention whore and Trump campaign was telling the truth about him being a nothing, and he just won't answer anything because it would confirm he really had nothing to do with Trump campaign. If he was really some big player in a trump russia scandal, he wouldn't be going out in public. If he really is involved and keeps doing these interviews, he will probably end up with plutonium poisoning.

If there is a big conspiracy, it will involve Manafort, Cohen, Trump.

The only reason Carter Page is giving interviews is to stay in the public eye. Basically telling Russia I know things so don't add me to your ambassador list. Gotta be right?

Either that or he wants to flip and maybe write a book?

He's clearly an intermediary. He shows up in way too many places. The explanation that he's some hanger on, always trying to portray himself as more important than he actually was is some 4d chess conspiracy theory.

ETA: and yeah he's clearly scared shirtless. Probably isn't lying about threats he's getting either, in addition to being followed by an agents from several possible sides.

White House proposes steep budget cut to leading climate science agency

Quote:
The OMB outline for the Commerce Department for fiscal 2018 proposed sharp reductions in specific areas within NOAA such as spending on education, grants and research. NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research would lose $126 million, or 26 percent, of the funds it has under the current budget. Its satellite data division would lose $513 million, or 22 percent, of its current funding under the proposal.

Let's just hypothesize for a minute that leaks about the administration's contacts with Russia are actually coordinated. Every day there is more, not even the joint session speech could sustain more than a day in the news until we found something new from another news agency. This about how professionally this appears to be done. It's sustained, measured, and most importantly more damning every day. Wikileaks looks amateurish in comparison. Risotto recipes and devil worship? We are talking about dates of actual meetings with associates, precise policy changes that those associates put in, rewinding their public statements, catching them lying under oath. Moreover the cabinet is understaffed, administration is trying headfaking left and right, even Russian officials are trying to comment. Pushing through crazy orders and repeals hoping to stall, or worst case bank some wins for the donors. Yet still Russiagate feels like an impending avalanche. How can they possibly climb out of it? Let's just say real professionals would drip-drip-drip it for months with mounting pressure, just like it's happening now. So what's next? We could see a staffer crack and get subpoenaed or get immunity. We could see the rumored fracture of the advisors in the open. any senior staffer could easily resign any day if you think about it. Unfortunately it looks like many congressmen republicans are probably not implicated if they didn't endorse trump early. It's a dilemma for them. Help bring down trump and many republicans would lose next cycle. Help but fail to take him down, and he'll destroy them anyway. Be seen help the coverup, and the taint will be hard to wash off. Reagan's extended circle had 140 indictments against them. That number seems low for trump, and it would probably doom anyone who is on any sort of committee looking at the administration.
