The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I thought it was very likely true when it first became public just based on inclinations of rich eccentric playboys.

Sessions said at the press conference two of his Senate staffers were in the second meeting. These staffers will also become star witnesses.

It depends how desperate they are to move the topic from Russia to another high profile defeat, because it looks dead on arrival. See Maddow tonight. Leaked DHS Intel report admits it doesn't address any national security threat.

The leaked Intel had report from homeland security saying Muslims aren't a threat initially when they come but are a real threat is when they become radicalized years later. That seems to me to support trumps ban that Merica needs to shut its borders completely.

And yes, travel ban coming tomorrow. Can't make it 1 full day without bad news cycle.(they were SO close today)

I'm thinking Trump, Price, or R Healthcare (non?)plan might be the next distraction to try and move the narrative off Russia, rather than a new Muslim ban. At the very least a new Muslim ban is going to get drug through the courts again, and there's a pretty decent chance it gets shot down which would be pretty humiliating for Trump. Conversely Obamacare has gotten a lot of attention, but hasn't really been certain stage of the circus yet. Plus Trump can divert a bunch of the negative press onto Congressional Rs.

Problem is I don't believe they have the votes in the Senate atm to even repeal. Too many states hooked on that sweet, sweet Medicaid $.

Yeah I agree, I don't think they will ever get all on the same page to do anything about it. But even just having anyone actually release a plan and having Congress, the public, etc debate it would steal a lot of attention.

Just watched a bit of Tucker Carlson, does he always look like a puppy seeing snow for the first time?

Rand Paul was trying to make a show over not being permitted to view the bill that is supposedly going to be introduced in the House.

Some of us are "these people". You sound like an extra on gone with the wind.

Session's change of tune on recusal was surprising. The Russian ambassador reminds me a little of the Bond villain, Goldfinger.

So lost in all this or I missed it earlier so apologize if it got posted but also reported today

The EPA head Pruitt is in dirty hot water for a statement he made to congress in his conf hearing.

When asked whether he had ever used a private email account while on the job, Pruitt told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee: “I use only my official OAG [office of the attorney general] email address and government-issued phone to conduct official business.”

Yet several of Pruitt’s official emails, released in a lawsuit in Oklahoma, were copied to his personal email — an Apple account that was partially blacked out before being released.

“Lo and behold, the documents Scott Pruitt wanted to keep hidden have confirmed our suspicion that he used his personal email address to conduct official state business and that he was not honest with the Senate about this during his confirmation process,” said Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.).

I guess this one is a dodgier case than sessions since he will probably make an argument by use he thought it only meant send/receive when from what I can tell he only just copied them to the personal account (I dunno why he'd do that, too tired to think of why atm).

Please don't fall into so-called "conspiracy" beliefs. Having worked in broadcasting for many years, I can say with pretty-good certainty that the media is not colluding to release damaging information in a certain pattern. The media does not collude. They have no agenda in this matter other than to be on top of every leak, every development and every sidebar story. They compete against each other to get stories.

It is possible that the source(s) is leaking with a certain design in mind. And its certainly possible that the same sources are leaking to multiple outlets simultaneously or almost simultaneously.

Get some cabinet members that aren't Russian assets then dip hole. Sad.

Christopher Steele sounds like a name a mediocre writer made up for his secret agent protagonist.
