Wait, I thought Ryan just said no need for Sessions to recuse himself? LOL GOP can't even agree on this.

Ryan Zinke rode a horse to work on his first day as Secretary of the Interior

Russian ambassador: "Hello Mr. Sessions, what is the nature of your call?"

Sessions: "Oh nuthin' Just wanted to talk. About life, whatnot."

Chutzpah in this instance is defined as "knowledge that you have zero accountability for anything you do, so YOLO"

Seriously if he's meeting a foreign dignitary as a member of Congress, HOW is there no formal record of the meeting?

the above is the wapo article headline. Misleading because Sessions was never asked to disclose all meetings with Russians.

tomorrow's headline might be:

Sessions ate at XYZ restaurant twice last year, meals he later did not disclose. Pelosi calls for resignation

Looking forward to an epic Trump rant in front of a military crowd in a bit.
03-02-2017 , 03:00 PM
By the way hornbug, if it helps: that headline happened because holding people accountable with more accurate but adversarial headlines like "Sessions met with Russian envoy twice last year, and later lied about it" is currently considered to be too partisan.
03-02-2017 , 03:01 PM
Someone with talent needs to make one of those diagonal split-screen shots with a formal Russian ambassador in one half, and Sessions lounging on a teenage girl's twin bed twirling a pink phone cord around his finger in the other.

03-02-2017 , 03:01 PM
Didn't Sessions prepare with attorneys before testifying?

Doesn't it seem like we should have gotten/ will get reports (leaks) from people who were approached by the Russians and turned them down? Or did the Russians really just manage to turn or at least partially compromise everyone they took a run at?

Isn't it almost worse if he's telling the truth that he didn't discuss the 2016 election?

It was public knowledge that there was a high likelihood Russia was interfering with the election PRIOR to the meeting he had with the Russian ambassador. So, his position is that he met with the Russian ambassador in his capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, while experts were saying the Russians were hacking to influence the election, and the topic didn't come up?

He's basically saying he met with the guy and turned a blind eye to the dude's government trying to influence our elections. Why in the world would you do that??? One wonders.
