My gut instinct is that Trump supporters love hearing talk about THE WALL, even more than they care if it ever actually gets built.

Seems like a logistical nightmare, my guess is they will build a few sections in certain spots, and claim victory.

The DOOMSDAY CLOCK people are going to make an announcement in a few hours! Exciting!

Prediction: they will set the clock back because Trump made the world safe again.

The slogan, “pussy power” was also popular. This is transphobic, as not all women have those. This excludes the trans community, creating a definition of a “woman” that isn’t accurate. We can protest for reproductive rights without being transphobic.

Just after the election the BBC in the UK got some Trump guy (a politician of some sort, not a punter) to talk about his policies. At that time there was some doubt about whether the wall would actually be built and what could be expected regarding the other main Trump pledges. The Trump guy tried to brush all the wall questions by saying that there is already a wall there so he's met his promise regardless, in a way. Awe-inspiring stuff.

Sounds like yet more FAKE NEWS from LIBRALS and SCIENTISTS.
01-26-2017 , 09:49 AM
This move towards restricting independent science studies etc reminds me of the original "V" series many years ago. As I recall, the evil aliens had terrible plans for Earthlings, and were worried that scientists may suss them out. So, they bashed "scientists" about in the media - saying that they had not released cancer cures due to nice research grants etc. I can't recall exactly what happened but I don't think it ended well.

THE WALL obviously creates jobs. There are so many people without jobs in this country. A tremendous amount actually. They will be more than willing to travel to the border to build the wall if it means keeping illegals out.

Yeah ok
01-26-2017 , 10:04 AM
I think that must be a Trump quote. The second sentence is just so Trump.
01-26-2017 , 10:09 AM
chain gangs will build the wall free of cost. oh, how sweet the irony will be when rapists and drug pushers build for us all a protective barrier from those awful mexicans!

No he hasn't released his tax returns. Maybe he had a losing year(s) which the average joe would think was a sin against humanity, are we really going to debate on a poker forum that how that sample size is relevant?
The only reason he went to the CIA was to swear Pompeo in but then congress postponed his confirmation.

It's weird you want to credit Trump giving a bizarro speech that made him look silly as him working hard.

I'm half hoping that someone spreads some fake news that Mexican drug muslims are planning to get to Canada by boat and enter the US from there. We could have two walls then.
01-26-2017 , 10:25 AM
Hey at least all those principled Republicans in Congress are standing up for what's right.

Oh wait. ****ing scumbag pieces of ****.

Just spit balling here, but there hasn't been 8T worth of public infrastructure spending in the entire US, state + local + federal, this millenium.

Hell the total value of US infrastruture is probably <40T dollars for everything!

If you even Buffetted, you would know that for around 7T dollars you could own all the farmland in the United States, 7 Exxon Mobils, and still have a trillion dollars in walking around money!!!

Try injecting a little perspective into your rants.
lol you need perspective. It would cost us 1 trillion dollars just to replace the RUSTY water pipes that urgently need replacing in our infrastructure.

Set that aside then claim that everything else besides a fraction of our water pipes is just a few trillion dollars.

By the way repairing / fixing existing infrastructure can be much more expensive then building things from scratch.

The wall is such an incredibly bad idea that it could go a long way to sinking Trump & the GOP for the next several years.

* Cost overruns
* Eminent domain abuses
* Inevitable large gaps
* Videos of people digging a hole under the wall, using a ladder to climb it, destroying sections
* Mexico not in fact paying for it

I think your math is as bad as Trump's.
How do budgets work?

Sizzler may be off on his estimates but zero chance a working and completed wall is finished for close to 20 billion dollars.

But if you remove the theatrics and histrionics and rhetoric and temperament stuff, and you shouldn't, but if you did -- so far it seems like a pretty standard clown show GOP administration. Make the Hyde Amendment permanent, prioritize re-writing regulations to favor whatever the extraction industries want, re-institute torture. One of the things to bear in mind about the Modern GOP is that like all ****ing 16 of those jokers who ran for President were unanimous about torture, and trying to outdo each other in the debates about who would brutalize Muslims more.

Trump is bad but let's not lose sight of that fact tons of the actual bad stuff, so far, is just standard fare GOP policies. I don't consider that hopeful in the least, I just point it out to note that Trump versus a league average GOP President would be much the same on the merits, but with a smoother and more politically savvy veneer. If we find this stuff truly galling, and you should, and Trump self-immolates, gets impeached, quits, dies of a heart attack, or whatever, I hope that we don't lose sight of the fact that the personage of Trump is only part of the problem here, and there's a whole political movement and tons of would-be Trumps with a more politically graceful tact waiting out there.

The wall won't hurt them at all (many support it despite evidence being it being nowhere worth it to do) and there won't be gaps. As absurd as that sounds, he wants every square inch covered, we'll have to build roads just to get to some of those places, or build it on a mountain, he don't give a ****, he wants it done.

We've already seen tunnels, hasn't stopped them. I'd reckon he wants a tall enough wall that a ladder is pointless.

Mexico will pay for it one way or the other, last resort is he'll just take the $ mexicans send back to their families. They're doomed.
01-26-2017 , 10:41 AM
Maybe they will use illegal aliens but then Trump will use his BIGLY business experience and pull the old Trumperoo and not pay them. That way at least he has gotten mexico to partially fund the wall.

The irony when Paul Ryan says the goal is to remove executive orders Obama enacted and return the power to the people. Turns out, the people voted by 2.8 million more votes for the other person. So if we are returning power to the people, the first thing should be to get rid of the electoral college.

Have an alt righter on my FB feed who maintains Build The Wall was nothing more than a metaphor for border security, and that only stupid libruls took him literally.

Trump isn't going to build an entire wall. He's going to build a few sections in populated areas and say he built the whole thing. And his followers will believe him.

I wonder how many Trump supporters would want a wall if the USA has to pay for it.
