Adding one more to the pile. That seems like a lot of foreign consuls to die in a span of 3 months.

You're probably closer to correct than I am, but I was giving benefit of doubt

If you suspect you're on Putin's list, now might be a good time to defect. Not sure what a good choice of embassy would be.

there has been a dramatic uptick in hate crimes and racially motivated violence since the election- it's quite a stretch to act like it isn't correlated with the way this admin's rhetoric has normalized fear and hatred of outsiders/immigrants. don't play dumb, you're smarter than that.

just to connect the dots a little bit more, the biggest terror threat that america faces BY FAR is and always has been homegrown right wing extremist groups. if you think that they don't feel emboldened by having the head of the mother****ing alt-right as the chief policy advisor to the president, a white house spokesman (stephen miller) who follows david duke on twitter, doing stuff like detaining/deporting immigrants and visa holders on the basis of fake crime and economic statistics, making up not one but two completely fake terror attacks that never occurred in their efforts to further demonize muslims...then like, wow, i'm not sure what planet you're living on nowadays.

you missed my point. you were wondering "why isn't this person getting it"

the logic puzzle tree:

1. Did he vote for trump -

No, continue
Yes, he's a dumbass

AP and TIME both boycotted the briefing after the others were blocked.

I don't know how many more times I'm willing to say "holy ****". This is the descent of a nation into wickedness and despair. There have been lots of "holy ****" moments in the past months. There will be many more in the coming months. At some point we have to say this is exactly what were expecting and respond accordingly.

If the .1% isn't willing to create a system that shares in the wealth created by automation so that people who lose jobs can do something, anything, with their lives then I don't want to imagine the political turmoil. The people that are already blaming immigrants and minorities for their economic issues will only increase and their failure to put the blame for these economic conditions on the proper source could be disastrous.
We finished automation 10 years ago, now it is digitization. Jobs will get destroyed sure. But this happens with new technology since century´s. If you were able to afford one tractor you could get rid of docents of farm workers. New professions will surface.

Schneider’s confusion is a symptom of CPAC’s conundrum with the alt-right, an ideology closely associated with Donald Trump’s rise and with the ongoing transformation of American conservatism since the election. Like other legacy conservative institutions, CPAC wants to curry the approval of the new dispensation and also to harness the energy of young people mobilized by the alt-right. But unvarnished white nationalism of the Spencer variety is still beyond the pale.

So the drama of this year’s CPAC revolves around how conservatives should handle the alt-right. The solution, so far, has been to make a gingerly attempt to separate out the more socially acceptable parts of the alt-right while distancing CPAC from figures like Spencer, who would remind the press and larger public that we are dealing with neo-Nazi ideologues.

But you cannot whitewash the alt-right, nor deny its influence in today’s conservative movement or the highest levels of the Trump administration.
Quote:
Like CPAC, the conservative movement faces a difficult choice. Many aspects of the alt-right, especially as articulated by outspoken figures like Spencer, are highly unpalatable to older right-wingers. Yet the alt-right clearly has momentum and is drawing fresh, youthful blood into the right. The current solution of accepting Bannon but rejecting Yiannopoulos and Spencer is a temporary compromise, one that is unlikely to last. Soon conservatism will have to face its moment of truth: Do they accept the alt-right as the future of American conservatism?

Nice. I'd hope others would follow suit, until it's just him briefing Brietbart and Alex Jones.

They know it's just going to be a bunch of garbage and lies anyway, and the constant leaks are much more informative.

Authoritarian has always won those battles so this is what conservative is now.

It can be defeated but it takes unity (ie bernie and hillary bros have to stop fighting along with the last remaining GOP'ers who don't want this bull**** either), but the name calling and the 'he's mentally ill" and all that crap has to stop, it doesn't work.

he's a low info redneck from middle america and manages a hole in the wall liquor store. ya he's kind of an idiot, but he's clearly choosing to bury his head in the sand on this particular issue. doesn't make him "stupid" as much as it makes him a scumbag
