It's just hard to see anything he can do or say that will make him lose support among his cult. I try to figure out how he won in the first place, and it's almost impossible.
Go back to 2004 and find that clip of Howard Dean yelling "YEAH!!!" in the voice of a ten year old boy after the Iowa caucuses. In that one mildly embarrassing moment his career as a candidate for political office was finished. He was done. Just for that. And now, not that long afterwards, we have Trump. And about that, you've said it all bro.

Trump voters, Brexit, Catalan independence, yellow jacketers in France, Italy, etc. all have similar origins. They are a mix of "Make Colonial Power X Great Again" and utopian solutions to the socioeconomic crisis that has destroyed the aspirations and ambitions of the middle class in North American and Europe. Racism and xenophobia are corollaries, not causes, that are expertly exploited by the bottom feeding fools that fill the void left by the traditional political class, whose toadying to corporate powers underlies the general disaffection and the widespread rejection of the traditional political class.

Further, even before they are elected president they **** on your tv show hosts. There is no tv show host on any station anywhere except the United States that could call Trump a pussy and prompt a government shut down.

US tv show hosts are the most powerful and it’s not close. The delta between number one and two is miles wide (not kilometers).
Lmao....So true.

Yes, an underappreciated aspect of Trumpism is the idea that Trump is the epitome of selfless sacrifice and martyrdom.

Sentiment heard at many a rally: Here was this super rich and successful businessman and celebrity, living a billionaire's dream life in New York, and he gave all of that up because he loves America so much, and he wants nothing more than to save the nation from the failures of weak Obama/Clinton democrats. He could be relaxing on a beach somewhere, and instead he voluntarily took on the thankless task of getting up every day and fighting for America! And in return he gets abused and attacked by the Fake News Media constantly, even his family is attacked mercilessly by the jealous haters, yadda, yadda, yadda. We should all thank God for President Trump every day. He's basically Jesus.

The reality of course: KhizrKhan.gif - "YOU'VE SACRIFICED NOTHING!!"

Well I guess that letter was so ambiguous that Trump just had to fire him early:

Trump, Angry Over Mattis’s Rebuke, Removes Him 2 Months Early

Maybe the Fox and Friends spin machine was broken.

+1. I have heard bolded a handful of times from real life deplorables.

I remember saying that to wil once, and got lambasted for being a weak pussy Euro for not wanting to work every waking hour I could.

I guess it's the inherited American way, with suckers believing working stupidly long hours gives them a much better shot at the jackpot.

I like that trump didn't listen to Mattis as he was resigning, and definitely didn't read his resignation letter, but once CNN and Fox interpreted the letter for him he got mad and fired Mattis early.

Never since William Henry Harrisson has a president been this out of it

Lock him up

Amazingly, people think this way in countries like England, France, Spain, Russia, Germany. All it takes to think this way is that at sometime in history the country was the world superpower, even if it was centuries ago.

Also trump was attacking the fed chair for raising interest rates because trump has variable loans so it cost him money. It's always something to do with him randomly attacking people he forgot existed out of nowhere.

Which, again, wasn't my point. My question was whether there has been a change in American travel patterns that would explain, at least in part, how the same country that elected Obama in 2008 and 2012 could elect Trump in 2016. I assume the answer to that question is no.
