I don't get this criminal justice reform bill. MSNBC is saying that this could not have gotten done without Trump, to give credit where credit is due.

There is no way this isn't just a political move to make himself look good, right? I hear Kushner was the driving force behind it and while I don't quite believe he cares, either, I could at least kind of buy that, since pretty much everyone is saying he was the man.

So looking at that Go Fund Me page, this guy is a triple amputee. I know FOX is gonna put that family front and center. But someone really needs to ask the dude about Trump and the troops.

Kushner apparently cares because his dad went to prison, which is ****ing perfect because he’s basically the only kind of criminal who should be doing MORE time in the slammer.

Trump was crucial only because McConnell is a pile a **** and refused to allow a vote on the bill even after it passed the House, so Trump asked him vewy nicewy and he allowed a vote.

I thought his part was just that turtle didn't want to bring it to a vote because he wanted to do other things but Trump (and other Republicans iirc) pressured him to.

My biggest issue with a wall is that I believe it is a giant waste of money and resources. If a bunch of idiots want to build one that is privately funded and not using normal tax dollars then I say we let them raise $1b in a gofundme and spend that. Just don't let the project go a penny over whatever they privately fund.

Haven't thought deeply about it, but I think I'm okay with them pooling funds to buy up whatever border property they can via the market and erecting fences that meet local building codes.

Its a monument to xenophobia and racism. A wall across the entire border will cause environmental issues while doing nothing that ladders and shovels can't circumvent.
