@ suzzer: By this time today, this thread was supposed to full of LOLing and alt-right butthurt at Milo's colossal failure. I will never forgive you for robbing me of this joy.

@ Max Cut: Your post is so good it almost redeems the last few pages.

I totally think Miller is doing a hand signal thing there, but am wiling to accept that I may have lost my mind.

And regardless, making a big deal out of it won't do anything except excite people who want to believe it on either side.

Better to focus on the actual terrible things they're doing.

I gotta say this whole thing is going about as badly for Republicans as I thought it would when I first heard Donald Trump was running. I thought it was funny then and that they would never let it happen. Silly me. The president is in for a long 0-4 years if he doesn't figure out how to shut up.

Every time he opens his mouth and says something contrary to something he was briefed on someone has the option to leak it. Little stuff like that can make a slow news day. They can and will also leak anything they lay eyes on. This makes covering things up very difficult. Every president ever has complained about leaks and Donald is about to learn how much different it is to run a relatively hand picked organization that prizes loyalty vs a humongous machine full of thousands of people who never had any loyalty to him at all... And mostly actively hate him.

He's going to bleed and bleed for the rest of the term if he doesn't stop talking when the cameras are on.

AGAIN - we're just talking about this thread on 2p2. I'm pretty sure Trumpites are not empowered by anything that happens itt.

Predictably it's already started. Spicer says today that Kasich repeatedly asked to meet. Kasich spokesman says, no actually Trump requested the meeting.

Here's a bigger pic with more context. I am officially dropping my odds based on this. It looks more like he's focused on the camera and the position seems more natural.

So why is it that you guys ignore the very similar concept of not muddying the waters with debatable or trivial Trump criticisms that give opponents ammunition against you? (For instance even as Shephard Smith was harshly criticizing Trump he also called the Conway Ivanka thing silly.)

There is a difference between promoting wholly fabricated stories and treating smaller stories as if they have large implications than they actually do. The latter approach is politically savvy, and has catapulted an incompetent fool into the most powerful position in the world.

Because the idea of conceding away all potential wrongdoing that our ideological enemies don't accept as legitimate (Shep is a boss, but he's still a conservative) is idiotic?

Like, Conway breaking federal ethics rules is "ammunition against liberals"? Jesus, Fly was right about you.

I don't get why these town hall crashing deals are any less legitimate if they are organized by dems. Why does it matter as long as they are people who live there? Or is he saying they're paid Soros agitators bro bussed around state to state.

It is a well-known rule of town halls that you are only allowed to stumble in by accident, preferably drunk. Planning to attend is strictly verboten.

Was on the road today and listened to very insightful interview/discussion with David Frum on Sam Harris' podcast. https://www.samharris.org/podcast/it...-all-cucks-now Some may be disappointed that they never mentioned Muslims (I don't think). Prob a top 3 podcast I've heard in the last month.

Also, Ezra Kline interview with Elizabeth Drew (ex-New Yorker and NY Review of books) about Trump and Watergate was quite good (she wrote a well-known book from her journal as it was happening). She has to be the sharpest 82 year old I've ever heard, was outthinking Kline, who's no dummy. https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-ezra-klein-show
