The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Trump got straight-up crushed in three debates in front of millions of viewers. 62 million people still showed up to vote for him.

I'm guessing it was a bit tongue-in-cheek because he deliberately mentioned his subsequent point was serious.

Wonder what the talking points would be if Bernie Sanders was president?

Republicans trying to impeach him for... ???

McCain is brilliant. He's a fascist ("I hate the press, I hate you especially") but he's coming off as the rogue Senator here while voting with Trump >90% of the time. Democrats need to get on his level and fast, but I'm not sure the press is even willing to give them a platform.

Fair. I'm mostly interested in the trend rather than the absolute number (which I have a hard time evaluating with accuracy).

nobody cares what democrats are saying right now though, only the republicans can save the country from their frankenstein monster

what's up with every stream looking like it's playing on RealAudio Player circa 2001

Apparently these two are known: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_and_Silk

Found a stream with better quality:

CNN isn't even mentioning the rally.

Meanwhile we have to kill PBS and the NEA because reasons.
Of course you're right, but what in the actual **** is costing NYC 500k per day to provide supplemental Trump Tower security.

That's just ludicrous. That's 180m per year; or 720m over the course of his first term. You could build the damn thing from scratch for that amount of money. Something doesn't add up here.

I mean if the fully burdened cost of a foot soldier is like 400 dollars a day (~60k/year salary + made-up overhead #) NYC could post 1000 of them outside Trump Tower and still have 100k/day leftover to go to Atlantic City with.

in all seriousness, what is the actual ostensible point of this rally? Is it really an official 2020 campaign rally?

None. Ego boost for Trump, perhaps raise a bit of funds for 2020 as well.

One time dealer: Trump mentions Obamacare and the crowd spontaneously breaks into chants of "Save our Healthcare!"

I think Spicer said it's a "campaign event," so yeah.

The majority of those people watched those debates and believed he won.
That's the scary part to me.

I don't think we are supposed to confirm Supreme Court justices during an election year.

Actually his popularity dipped after each debate, then slid back up between debates and spiked after the Comey letter (which was after all the debates). If anything, it seems like the debates had a positive but not-lasting effect for Hillary.

I was just thinking the other day, what we really need is longer Presidential campaigns.

This doesn't contradict what he claimed though.
