Nah, Kushner is way too smart to get jammed up like that. Operation wouldn't be so sloppy if it was him.

"So? It's getting things done!"

I don't think it's insulting to point out that complexity* is going to lead to extreme skepticism in most people. Humanity is really not that intelligent. And people go based on their own experiences and anecdotes. And so people in this country believe that the Republic is indestructible. And they believe norms established to preserve the Republic don't actually matter. Not just that, they believe those norms hinder progress.

That's probably like 80% of voters right there. And what we have now is somebody whose mindless narcissism happens to not only appeal to all of that, but also to the worst and most inhumane instincts in people that masquerade as reason. So that cuts it down to 40% but that's all he needs after hitting a couple runner runners around election time.

I swear to God I'm actually an optimist with faith in the electorate and find it disturbing and disgusting when people try to tear it down or place restrictions on it.

*literally any presence of complexity. More than 0 complexity.

Obviously there's a big connection between what he follows through with and what retroactively becomes what was actually important for you

Eveything else is just bluster, is just "Trump being Trump"

My dad says "Trump isn't who I would draw up, but I care about jobs"

Although I think I'm conflating other people I've talked to with my dad. Maybe it's just all the wrong coincidences with my dad. Because anytime I've ever been at his house and read the newspaper, he's underlined in red various parts of any article that is ever about bringing jobs to his home state. Just thinks it's a perfect one to one relationship and not a scam, a lying stat, a ploy to get governments competing against each other to offer tax incentives

And this is a guy who has like 4 favorite sayings and one of them is "figures lie and liars figure

I mean it's horrible to paint the elclectorate as functionally illiterate or even just not having the most horsepower possible upstairs, but how is this not a result of people being unable to reason on a high enough level to tell that what they "like" or "feel in their gut" is right and anything otherwise is just an attack, just sour grapes, just trying to GET CLICKS

He, and millions of people, are fully on board with FAKE NEWS being major networks and they were before this week. As soon as the stories came out about the influence of fake news on social media, BOOM it can be used against the most mainstream of sources

Which obviously to an extent there is always bias but these people are just like IT'S BINARY BECAUSE EVEYTHING IS BINARY

IT'S FAKE OR ITS SOMETHING THAT AGREES WITH MY OPINION I FORMED BEFORE I HAD ANY EVIDENCE
I guess my main source of confusion is that it would be understandable if his position was Trump is gonna create jobs, so I don't give a **** about all the other silly stuff he does.

But for him to go with I like Trump because he keeps his promises and because he's gonna create jobs, makes no sense. Because that first half of that sentence is so easily demonstrably false.

Haha no, they are all idiots. They all took the sanction bait like sucker fishes.

Anyway, the Frum tweet. I bet whoever has the story reached out to the White House for comment before dropping it, which led to Trump absolutely losing his **** on Twitter. LETS DOOOOOOOOOOO THIS ORANGE CLOWN!

Also, Frums face looks like a wet doughnut.

The Trump quote was "I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done." 6-23-15

Overall, when polled non voters are much more liberal than voters.

It's false according to liars. He knows what he reads in the paper and you're trying to convince him he doesn't know how to read.

@jefe thx bro

There's literally too many things to say about Trump lying or being a hypocrite or whatever, so either it's fabrications from a conspiratorial attempt to discredit him, or THEY ALL DO IT, SNOWFLAKE

Well that might be a reasonable form of denial for a lot of his lies. In this specific case, you can play a couple of 30s youtube clips for him to defeat that objection. Is he going to claim someone made a fake Trump vid?

WASHINGTON — The White House budget office has drafted a hit list of programs that President Trump could eliminate to trim domestic spending, including longstanding conservative targets like the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Legal Services Corporation, AmeriCorps and the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities.

Work on the first Trump administration budget has been delayed as the budget office awaited Senate confirmation of former Representative Mick Mulvaney, a spending hard-liner, as budget director. Now that he is in place, his office is ready to move ahead with a list of nine programs to eliminate, an opening salvo in the Trump administration’s effort to reorder the government and increase spending on defense and infrastructure.

Most of the programs cost under $500 million annually, a pittance for a government that is projected to spend about $4 trillion this year.

This is more believable and what i tried to tell you guys back when the Taiwan call happened and everybody thought Trump was going to war with China over some hotels in Taiwan.

Trump is a con man and corrupt to the core and there is no one more equipped to deal with a corrupted official than Beijing.

It is a bonus for both governments because any economic weakness can be blamed on the other guy but war will never happen.

This is contingent on Trump actually being in control though. If an ideologue like Bannon is the one wielding the real power then all this goes out the window.

If you wanna show me a couple I'll consider it when I'm sober again.

But I think you're really underestimating the paranoia that people are just OUT THERE TRYING TO CONVINCE YOU OF LIWS

I tell him public record quotes or otherwise undisputed events all the time like Perry not knowing what Dept of Energy does and he's ALWAYS just like, "we'll I haven't heard that. Are you sure? There's a lot of fake news out there and you gotta be careful."

Also, you're just never going to convince these people that being "successful" in business is possible if you are incompetent or even dishonest. THE PROOF IS IN THE SUCCESS, EGGHEAD

You can overcome this with a minute of youtube.

Sure, but if he's just like everyone else, then he is not one to keep his promises, is he?

You're never going to turn him, obviously. But I think this small point (Trump does what he says) has to be winnable to someone who is willing to engage you (which I'm assuming is the case here).

I'm lazy but I'll try to give it a shot this weekend. If someone else has a couple of handy links to the following that would be great:

1. Trump says in debate two he will assign a special prosecutor to prosecute Hillary.

2. In post-debate rally he says something like "That's just something that plays well....we don't really care about that"
02-18-2017 , 12:08 AM
Pokerchads, how about this.

You have your dad describe the type of government he would like (dont mention parties or trump).

Then, describe all the ways Trump runs counter to this form of government.

No. Because the Dems/Libs need to understand why Trump won if they want to win in 2018/2020. Just assuming Trump won because of old racists and having a game plan of "Well, we need to outnumber the old racist people at the booth." is a losing strategy.

How is this hard to understand?
