The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I still think it‘s far more likely that it‘s about shady real estate financing via the Russian mafia. Would be more embarrassing to Trump than the pee tape too, most likely.

Well given how this summit went down we can expect some white nationalist fearmongering about immigrants to get some wind in the sails again

if there is a single lesson that one should learn from studying the past 70 or so years of American political history, it is that American intelligence agencies are scrupulously honest. Basically just a bunch of George Washingtons cutting down the cherry tree, yessir.

I saw that folks posted Brennan's tortured response to Trump's press conference, but I wonder what his old boss had to say about it?

Here's what ole Jim Clapper had to say:

Quote:
“You know, like everyone else, I’m struggling with some way to capture or describe what we just witnessed. It is truly unbelievable,” he told CNN Monday. “On the world stage in front of the entire globe, the President of the United States essentially capitulated and seems intimidated by Vladimir Putin. So it was amazing and very, very disturbing.”
VERY DISTURBING. And remember, as a pillar of the US intelligence apparatus, Clapper cannot tell a lie.

In which KEEEEEEEEEEEEED has to forcibly turn his brain off in order to stop from evaluating intelligence community claims in context with other publicly available information from reporting and criminal indictments, beyond "intelligence reports good, Trump bad"

Embarrassing. You're learning well from Greenwald.

Trump colluded with Russians

Everyone knows it

No one cares

Rand Paul with an absolutely disgraceful appearance on CNN. He brought up some study looking at elections from 1940-2000 citing how many times the US interfered in elections and that is was more than Russia. He looks like he's trying not to **** his pants too. **** each and every one of these Trump slappies.

Whether it's him 'keeed' or not behind the keyboard anymore doesn't really matter.

You're writing this like he's coming in with links and citations and relatively well thought out water carrying and mansplaining as an organic thing rather than something he's being paid to do.

It's a helluva lot of effort to put in, and it's kinda arrogant for this place as a forum to think he's doing it to troll YOU. Like he woke up one day at 48 or whatever and decided this place needed a new ikes out of the contrariness of his heart.

There's plenty of evidence that Russia intervened in the elections. There's evidence that Trump or members of his campaign may have knew about this at the time and hoped it would succeed. It not at all clear that this is even illegal though, as Glesias pointed out. It is less clear if anyone actively and materially assisted the Russians, which likely would be illegal. And it looks like there are some extremely shady financial dealings by Trump, which could be the most important and easiest to prove, but has gotten the least press.

What there is no evidence for at all is that Trump is being actively blackmailed by Putin. Which is what folks are claiming.
07-16-2018 , 05:32 PM
Lets just step back and appreciate Putin.

A literal GOAT.

lol at the thought of somebody paying Keed to come in here and get dunked on more than Shawn Bradley.

Stopped in for one after work at the local dive bar where it’s not uncommon to see a MAGA hat and all the locals are in agreement that “it’s ****ing treasonous what happened today”. Maybe there is hope?

Wookie is not claiming blackmail here: he is claiming, correctly, that your defense against blackmail ("Trump just treats Putin the same as he does all these other bad guys") is false.

So to respond to Wookie with this, your goalposts, they are moving.

Ideally, and functionally, blackmail only occurs when there isn't evidence to support its existence, Keeemrade.

I wasn't responding to Wookie? I was responding to you?

But hey, if you guys agree with me that it's very unlikely that Trump is being blackmailed by Putin and there is no evidence for that as of now then wtf are we arguing about?

I wasn't claiming blackmail either!

Hell, when people talk about the intelligence community and Trump getting on stage rebuking his intelligence agencies - afaik intelligence agencies have not stated they think Trump is being blackmailed. So why are you talking about blackmail in explaining your rants about James Clapper and ****?
07-16-2018 , 05:46 PM
it's very, very important that Keeed scores these points on Trump not being blackmailed by Putin for unknown reasons. certainly not that he's being graded on his successes.

just a kid out there determined to to achieve consensus on reasonable totally American things to worry about after work.

We've been through this before. You have an unusually strict definition of what constitutes evidence that doesn't line up with ours, so it is nonsense to try to discuss whether or not there is evidence.
