I don't know. Republicans are set to lose control and they packed the courts and no one's going to do anything about it.

Dems are terrible in this regard.

Franken also resigns while the Republicans run a child molestor in Alabama and the Prez has 16(?) women accusing him

That's idiotic for Walgreens to allow people not to do their job. They should at least be able to flag this drug and determine in advance if the woman needs to go to a different Walgreens - there's no need for all the drama at the pharmacy counter.

And why the hell is p.harma.ci censored?

Franken is meh, letting the Republicans permanently seize an entire branch of government and a major check on Trump is absurd. And then they turned around and approved most all of Trump’s appointee because civility or norms or something.

That's the game for him.

Long before he wrote The Bell Curve, I remember some article in which he argued that we shouldn't care about income inequality in the U.S. because poor people in the U.S. are just as happy as rich people.
Studies have shown that there is little or no increase in average happiness as your income/wealth increases. But only ABOVE a certain threshold. Nowadays I think that's about 100K a year in the US depending on circumstances. But below that happiness IS correlated with money. And that implies exactly the OPPOSITE of his conclusion. Because it means one rich person could increase the happiness of many, sometimes very many, people with very little decrease in happiness to himself.

Rocket Man can't come visit Trump now because North Korea is part of the travel ban

Usually it's spam related, so there must be some site that uses just the "pharmaci" part in its url or something.

In my experience crashing their bikes is the most natural thing Harley riders do. My coworker with a Harley has had to replace his about every 2 years since I started working with him.

It amazes me that there are Dems who pay enough attention to politics to post here who think the Dems should return to old SCOTUS norms if they take power. You think the GOP won't pull that **** again??? ARE YOU WATCHING????????

Fighting back is mandatory. Pack the courts? Sure. Impeach Gorsuch? Won't succeed, but okay. But do SOMETHING.

This isn't just about the SCOTUS balance of power now, this is about not tacitly approving a new precedent that Dems only get to fill SCOTUS seats if they open up within the first two years of a term. This is about letting the Republicans know that there are repercussions so they don't try to make the new precedent that Dems only get to fill seats when they have 60 in the Senate.

This attitude will also impact other issues like gerrymandering and voter suppression. The Dems are getting freerolled over and over again, so the GOP is incentivized to keep trying to find new ways to blow up norms.

So pretty much the most important thing before the mid-terms is whether Kennedy retires. I've heard speculation along the lines of "50/50". And given how Kennedy voted on the CA abortion case and the travel ban, he may even want Trump to nominate his replacement.

Then again, if Dems don't take the Senate (which is still a long shot), it doesn't actually matter. Maybe time to pray for a recession.

At the very least this guy shouldn't be the only one there. If they have staff who have a problem with certain drugs then they should have another staff member there to dispense them when the issue arises. Hit Walgreens where it ****ing hurts don't make the customer traipse all over town because of religious ****ing nutjobs.

It should be emphasized, particularly in light of how all the lower courts came out on the travel ban, that the Supreme court is pretty much at the conservative fringe of the American judiciary. Replacing Kennedy with a stalwart conservative would likely put the SCt further away from the rest of the judiciary than at any other time in history.

And how did they get there? Two elections where the Republicans lost the popular vote and a stolen seat, all on the back of a rapidly declining segment of the populace. That creates a lot of internal pressure in the political system, the effects of which will eventually be made manifest.

Cuse,

Yeah. But, fat chance.

Better chance to go Maxine Waters on their asses.

The effectiveness and wisdom of any proposed Democratic strategy or action has a 1:1 correlation with the amount and intensity of right wing squealing and concern trolling that results.

Fat chance only because most of the party faithful are either not paying attention and think that turning the other cheek will start an era of civility rather than an era of authoritarian rule... And because a chunk of the rest think we're living in Sorkin's West Wing.

News flash: we are living in The Newsroom, and these are the American Taliban, and they're running **** and destroying the opposition.

Abolish or radically reform the supreme court.

Look for a ban from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras coming down soon.

Pretty much the end of America as a free place. Oh well, y'all had a good run.

Dems should be gerrymandering the **** out of California and New York. They should be finding diabolical ways to kick old people off the voter rolls and make them register again. They should require an eye exam every 4 years and say it's because 3-5 million votes were erroneously cast due to poor vision, and this is a blight on American democracy. They should pass laws banning those with various forms of dementia from voting for fear of their kids manipulating their votes. They should require civics and current events tests before you're allowed to vote, because an informed voter is a good voter!

Of course these things are heinous, and should be outlawed, but Republicans are on a road to one-party rule by using dirty tricks and hostage taking. You can't negotiate from a position of weakness against a ruthless opponent, so Democrats need to be willing to fight fire with fire simply to get to the negotiating table with enough leverage to legislate a fair and just solution.

They should announce as they are doing all of this that it's a direct response to the GOP's dirty tricks. When the Republicans lose their minds, Dems should offer to pass a new federal VRA with provisions banning gerrymandering. If the GOP refuses, the arms race continues, but at least there will still be a battle for power in which both parties have a chance.

I had a very hard time remembering what it was that was supposed to trigger the huge insta-protests. After baby comcentration camps and the Muslim ban I'm not sure firing Mueller will make that big an impression.
