The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

It's one thing to read the transcript of that **** show of a press conference and an entirely wholly ****ing new disaster listening to it. Holy ****ING ****. There are no words. Can anyone shed some light on the "plastic button Hilary 20% uranium reset" bull****? JFC my brain hurts. Trying to follow this dumb****s thought and speech pattern is like trying to watch a minnow swim in an ocean.

Yeah, all the stuff I've read and said this week, got me all "ok maybe there's a chance! Maybe the approval rating will just keep trickling down."

But that's all ignoring this.

WAAF. You just can't have 84% of a group think this **** is even barely acceptable, and expect them to start listening to reason, even when it hits their own pocketbooks.

It has already, if you're brown. The other colors will follow soon.

That's the first stage. It's progress.

Who the **** are the 8?

Like 1 or 2 sure, but 8?

That's almost bargaining, the third stage.

Oh for sure. I'm hearing on Twitter this rally on Saturday is just an excuse to get protesters to show up. Bannon will have some of his minions "start fights" to make it look like it's the left that is violent.

Cognitive dissonance. They are faced with the thought that maybe they made a mistake in voting but they can't quite accept that so they try to avoid it or they try to reaffirm why it was a good choice.

they're trolls. you've seen them on here. People who claim to be liberal but really have no liberal beliefs.

I really don't get why bannon's minions couldn't just pretend to be protesters and provoke the supporters themselves. Clearly bannon doesn't care if anyone would be hurt by some good old fashioned crowd mentality.
02-17-2017 , 12:16 AM
Hey, if this thing on Saturday is a campaign rally, doesn't the campaign have to pay for stuff like traveling on Air Force One, or does the public foot that whole bill?

There is this kid I work with that plays a ton of online games and only eats club sandwiches. He's not into politics at all but I'm convinced he would be a better president.

None of them are black or brown is the biggest problem; even vs white libs he knows he can't just order a giant police beatdown yet. Also, he probably doesn't have the numbers to achieve what he wants. Has to be seen as a bunch of them, not a few.

Andy Borowitz:

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but why would Trump ask a black reporter to set up a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus when he could just pick up the phone and ask Frederick Douglass to do it?

Public foots the bill (it's not supposed to for campaign, but we all know he's not gonna bill himself), including security of him and his family that loves to travel a lot. It's costing everyone not named trump a **** ton of $. He's going way over 100M on just that in 4 years. Some of that $ is going straight to his own bank account because they're staying at his hotel/resort.

Ofc, republicans blamed obama for that one weekend he went to like 4 places and definitely spent too much but aren't doing **** about this despite it costing a ****ton more but we all knew that. Some are already trying to hint he go golfing at his virginia place already b/c of how ridic it is but lol @ telling trump to do something else. Gonna be every weekend golfing in FL for awhile.

But it's not like he constantly blamed obama for golfing or promised to not go on vacation as president or anything.
02-17-2017 , 12:25 AM
In one month, the President's travel and Melania's life in Trump Tower have cost taxpayers what would extrapolate out over four years to over $1.1 Billion unadjusted for inflation

And he's taking campaign donations because that's all legal and the paperwork is squared away

And they frame it as "supporting our movement and showing the world we are the silent majority" rather than a campaign contribution

Nonprofits could risk their nonprofit status by speaking against him, because that's campaigning! A corporation is a person but a nonprofit needs to shut the hell up

I said sometime a while back that a random person >>>>>> Trump and got some negative feedback from a non-Trumpkin. I don't think it's even debatable. Would any of us aside from awval at this point not snap take a rando?
02-17-2017 , 12:36 AM
I think at least 90% of people would be better, and I'm talking around the world, not just us.

You gotta remember that something like 35% of these people think he's amazing and would snap hire him to be their Bannon plus another 10-15% like his ideas and just wish he'd stop using the twitter and calm down a little bit.

I mean, I'd take a rando bc it's not gonna get a lot worse than this, but it's not getting any better than him something like half the time. There are some liberals who are flat out too stupid to do the job or even hire good people around them even if their political beliefs are better too.

I imagine that many of his core supporters are every bit as bad belief wise and many of them will also be dumber than he is.
02-17-2017 , 12:44 AM
I think a very large chunk of the amount who are too stupid would pick a smarter person to advise them, even if it's someone LOL like Paul Krugman they pick to show them who to hire.

Or maybe I'm wrong. I've been overly optimistic before. It's true.
02-17-2017 , 12:44 AM
There would be a solid minority with equally stupid ideas, but most of them would just get absolutely nothing done. For example, a stark raving mad homeless person who spends all day screaming at their invisible enemies? That would be better.

Yeah, I'm legit worried about this. I'm not sure how deep it goes.

Like, for years we've all had a good laugh at the crazies caught up in the right wing derposphere. What a bunch of cooks! But, at least for me, I felt like enough of them would come back to reality when **** really hit the fan. After all, George W. Bush's approval rating went down to 25% so surely most of them aren't totally lost, right?

But I dunno anymore. Years and years of hate-watching Fox News in your rocking chair can do a lot of damage. And now the younger cohort can fire up breitbart or infowars or whatever to get their fix. The fact sites like this are growing like crazy is a really bad sign.

I'm quite concerned that a large and increasing percentage of conservatives are just GONE at this point. Totally brainwashed and never coming back.
