I just finished watching S1 of "The Circus" on Showtime, and I know hindsight is a huge advantage here but it is kind of shocking how off some of the D strategists were throughout the campaign. I'm certainly not going to say anyone can waltz in and do it (I just tried curling and had a laugh at all the people I've heard say "It's just like bowling! Give me a week to train and I could win a medal!"), but I certainly was taken aback at how these A+ level operatives, who are apparently treated like genius gurus, whiffed hard at pivotal times. I'm not quite sure what my point is other than that show was pretty entertaining if you FF the parts where it tries to be Bourdain's show in the restaurants they go to.

Little known curling fact. toid. Canadian curlers' training table always includes several litres of west cost IPA. Gotta bend those rocks.

OK then, the place I went to has it set up correctly. They had a rather large bar for only 3 "lanes" for curling. They even had stacks of cases of good beer in the rink area. I quit booze a while ago, maybe that's why I won in my group.

I wonder how Barron is taking all this. Like, is he gonna be an extension of his father and older siblings or will he go in the opposite direction? I can't imagine Donny talks to him more than a min or 2 per week.

Good guess but no. Somehow we got on a tangent talking about murder rates by city, some Euro made the comment that European cities are way safer than American ones, and I made the comment "it's almost as if letting everyone have guns is a bad thing". I'd like to point out that of the ~200 sovereign nations on earth, there is exactly 1 where that comment could be considered political.

To be fair, after some trumpkin told me to go **** myself, I made fun of him for being triggered, and it was this 2nd post and not the initial one that got me banned.
