Can I get a show of hands? How many of you aren't lawyers?

And why the hell does the politics sub-forum of a poker site consistently attract so many damn lawyers?

I'm often told I'm not a real lawyer.
04-17-2018 , 01:02 AM
Also not a lawyer. If you need help with your calculus hw let me know.

I'd be thrilled to represent Trump someday. It would make me happy to do so.

Mostly because for that to happen he'd have to indigent and accused of a jailable offense in West Virginia.

Ok, so add to the scenario that you're alone with the attorney and that you say stuff to him before he has a chance to give you the disclaimer. Everything you say before he makes it clear there is no possibility of an attorney client relationship, is stuff you can assert privilege on?

My impression was that the reason for those disclaimers is primarily to avoid issues related to other factors. The privilege in and of itself, I would imagine, is generally not a problem for the attorney.

Yeah, remember the episode where the fertility doctor was using his own sperm and Mcoy and Kincade set up a Chinese wall because of confidentiality? The New Trump show kind of stole that plot.

Who knows if I could come in cold and do a better job with no experience, but I will say that Cohen can have all the action he wants +25 against me on the LSAT.

IANAL. Poker player, BS in Public Communications (broadcast journalism), with minors in political science and information management and technology.

Fun fact: I worked as a political journalist for a night (covered an election). Otherwise I only covered sports.

Is Jim Boeheim as scummy as he comes across?

The better question is: how many of us became lawyers AFTER being poker players?

In this case, it is probably going to depend on the context and the state you are in. I don’t really know because this never comes up in the area of law in which I practice. You would want to check the statute governing the privilege from the state you are in and then the case law regarding that statute to see whether a similar situation had been addressed before.

Here is the language from Florida:
Quote:
A client has a privilege to refuse to disclose, and to prevent any other person from disclosing, the contents of confidential communications when such other person learned of the communications because they were made in the rendition of legal services to the client.
Here’s the definition of a client:
Quote:
A “client” is any person, public officer, corporation, association, or other organization or entity, either public or private, who consults a lawyer with the purpose of obtaining legal services or who is rendered legal services by a lawyer.

Wire derail is A+, and it even has some Keeed in it.

I still think 4, 1, 2, 3, 5. After seeing the whole series maybe 5 times, s4 hasn't lost value for me. Agree with Fly that 1 & 2 are practically interchangeable.

One thing that surprised me is how many people rated s3 so highly. It's definitely better than 5 (LDO) but doesn't beat 4 and 1 as some posters said. Maybe it's because of the politics involved and that this is a politics forum, but IMO people are forgetting how the whole Hamsterdam story brings it down a notch.

What's not up for debate is the amazingness of the scene where Bunk and Cool Lester Smooth are by the vacants and Lester first realizes the different screws from the nail gun. "This is a tomb. Lex is in there."

Side Q: Who's a better Aidan Gillen character, Tommy Carcetti or Littlefinger? Gotta be Tommy, right?

Wire derail is pretty clearly an abomination but I do my share of derailing so meh.
