The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I missed something, but did Flynn apologize to Pence for lying to him about his dealings with Russia and that's supposed to smooth things over?

The problem there was that he lied to Pence?

thats what theyre trying to say.

And Trump didnt get a single question about Flynn today.

But this **** is far from over it's just been underreported yet. Trump might fire him tomorrow for all we know. Or he could absolve him and doubledown on hoping this blows away

If Flynn did this at Trump's urging, he is safe unless he is willing to fall on his sword. If he did this all on his own, he is toast.

But firing a key member of your staff in the first 3 weeks can't be a good look and even dummy Trump knows it. Plus Trump never admits a mistake ever and hiring Flynn has been a very, bigly mistake.

Wow, you are not kidding. He was a major player. Beats kicking old folks out into the street.

A quick stroll through foxnews.com shows that the only problems wrt to Flynn are 1) He lied to Pence and 2) There are too many leaks in the White House.

Some R congressman is calling for an FBI investigation into the leaks because we can't have this kind of stuff leaking out of the WH.

Lawyers, is a Quo Warranto proceeding vs Trump biz viable?

Shugerman’s approach stems from one important legal concept: Incorporation is a privilege afforded by the state, but to maintain corporate status, one must conduct business legally.

State attorneys general have the power to bring actions against corporations, something known as a “Quo Warranto” proceeding, to determine whether the corporations are a conduit for illegal activity. This is known as a corporation acting “ultra vires” or beyond its legal authority. In this case, the proceeding would determine whether Trump’s corporate entities are being used as a conduit for illegal emoluments to Trump.

Importantly, the case would involve a public official (a state attorney general) suing a private entity (the Trump Organization). This means standing would be on much firmer ground.

Contrast that with hacked DNC emails being leaked during the election where the conversation was constantly steered towards the leaked info being true or not.

my mom just started clapping when a news break during tucker carlson showed that mnuchin got confirmed.

this is coming from a person who had her condo foreclosed a decade ago when they refused to renegotiate her mortgage.

If he did it at Trump's urging, how does it end?

Trump is an idiotic buffoon and his staff will always leak like a sieve. That goes until we're far enough along the totalitarian path that people in the administration are afraid for their lives. A couple years?

Word must be out that Flynn is toast. Repub now safe to issue a (qualified) call for his resignation.

DOJ now saying they told trump a month ago Flynn was susceptible to Russian blackmail.

THIS CANT BE REAL CAN IT?

To be fair it was probably all Flynn. Trump was too busy at the time figuring out his victory tour and trying to figure out why he can't get tanks to parade for him. Flynn seems like the kind of guy who would do something like this on his own.

Flynn is a vindictive guy. If Trump was behind the sanctions talk with Russia and is canned by Trump. he will talk. He also had contacts with Russia during the campaign so can go scorched earth. ( I can only hope).

Any time you can add the executive producer of The Entourage movie to your national political team in a vital role, you have to do it.
