The lol part is that the media has been reporting on infrastructure problems for years, not just dams but bridges and everything else. Trump party campaigned on the need for infrastructure spending.

Then a dam fails, and what's the first thing these weirdos think? This is the easiest "thanks Obama!" ever but no let's get deep into some X-Files **** here right off.

Holy **** I think I see jet parts in the water below. Can jet fuel melt rebar?

Trump's infrastructure plan is for toll roads. I don't know if a toll dam works.

California is a perpetual natural disaster area.

Don't forget that Trump wants a private sector middleman in his infrastructure plan for grifting purposes.

You guys can't go 2 weeks without a drought, wildfire, flood, mudslide or earthquake.

I strongly suspect it was destroyed by a bomb by communists and subversives in California's government. I find it extremely odd that this enormous water resource has been crippled right when it could save California agriculture after an extended and proven fabricated drought, which absent the draining of the dams on purpose would have meant nothing. It is proven that the dams were drained in the name of giving tons of water to a fictitious fish called the "delta smelt", which was an invasive species dropped in the Sacramento River delta by settlers 100 years ago. It does not belong there anyway, so saying it is endangered is pure fiction, and nothing but an excuse to destroy California. A textbook communist tactic.

JFC, this is why Trump won.
I agree. its time we got tough on these illegal immigrant fish. they have been sucking off the govt teat of entitlements like free water and river access for far too long. deport deport deport.

Nature is less likely to kill you in California than most states. For most of the population there is no snow, thunderstorms, tornados, hurricanes.

Is the fish real or not?
02-12-2017 , 10:23 PM
The fish is real, and Trump campaigned against it.

Big state exposed to the elements. News at 11.

You can say the same thing about Alaska. If Texas had earthquakes, you could say that as well.

How much more do you want to pay for electricity after the damn is privatized by Trump's infrastructure auction?

Interesting how Awval is nowhere to be seen now that his idol is actively burning the US to the ground.

Relevant NOAA link:

2015 weather fatalities:
California - 12
Oklahoma - 18

California has roughly 10x the population of Oklahoma.

So Trumps Muslim ban is polling at 55% approval? I wonder what the polls will show about the recent ICE deportations. The Muslim ban is free roll for Trump, the majority of Americans support it and if there is not a terrorist attack he can say that it is coming and if there is a terrorist attack it is checkmate.

Honestly, an electricity project paid for by the those that use it is ideal (and common). If you prefer you can think of it as a tax paid by those that received the benefit collected by a private third party.

infrastructure used by the public should be owned by the public and not run for a profit.

No. Regulated utilities companies is a fine model.

Got curious. Found data. This is mortality rates for natural disasters (my state still wins).

Seems like a fair few of the executive orders have good approval ratings even if the President himself does not.

But at least for now, that is a price Republicans seem willing to pay. In effect, congressional Republicans have sought to compartmentalize Mr. Trump’s presidency, adopting a cafeteria-style approach. They reach for the more appealing offerings, such as the Supreme Court nominee, Judge Neil M. Gorsuch, and avert their gaze from less appetizing or, to some, downright indefensible elements (America is not so different from Vladimir V. Putin’s Russia), which would have surely drawn relentless rebukes if uttered by President Barack Obama.

Some lawmakers take comfort knowing that the president’s behavior last year didn’t hurt their campaigns, and they have used the electoral result as a justification unto itself, suggesting — as Mr. Trump has constantly — that his campaign success validates his approach.

“He’s a unique personality, to be sure,” acknowledged Senator John Cornyn of Texas, the Republican whip. “But he’s gotten this far the way he is, and I think that probably leads him to think, well, it’s working for him so far, so why change?”

And Republican lawmakers do not mind?

“As long as we’re able to get things done,” Mr. Cornyn said.
Quote:
More skeptical Republicans believe that lawmakers are deluding themselves if they treat Mr. Trump as a normal president — quirky but tolerable, like a colorful uncle at Thanksgiving dinner.

“They’re mostly ignoring him, humoring him occasionally while the rest of the family gets along fine, enjoys the turkey and watches the game,” said William Kristol, the former editor of The Weekly Standard. “But he’s not just a bit player or a guest. He’s the president.”

It's kind of amazing when you think about how much of a failure the "Good Republicans will turn on Trump if you point out all idiosyncratic things he does".

The ban on lobbying seemed fine. I can't think of any other.
02-12-2017 , 10:59 PM
I'm just talking about the data. Travel ban and various others were over 50% mark based on polling data. Same sorts of sources as the polling data that put his personal approval rating at historic lows. Travel ban was actually highest at 55%.
