Trump and his team continue to lay the groundwork for massive voter suppression efforts based on false widespread voter fraud allegations

Some people are just so far over the deep end with Trump. *shrugs*
ya one of my family members is a massive trumper. her daughter, who is grown now, battled bipolar her whole life and it was super destructive. many hospital visits and therapy and all that. no way this women could ever afford it as she never had great jobs. decent jobs getting by, but I would imagine this cost 100s of thousands. so the gov helped out a ton obv. but like, she just doesnt see it.

There's one problem with fighting miller on this.

They are going to find voter fraud. One way or another. Then it's a ****show.

Some thoughts today:

1. Trump's approval rating is down to 40% in Gallup's tracking poll. 55% disapprove. I think it's a great sign that people who voted for Trump are already abandoning ship. Usually it takes much longer for people to make that mental switch.

2. Relatedly, I was concerned Trump might focus on photo-ops and "deals" like Carrier that don't actually do anything but fool people into thinking he's doing a good job. And I was concerned the media might go along with it. Instead, it's clear this is not happening as Trump keeps blundering over and over.

3. SNL has been brutal for team Trump IMO. Like with Palin, people are going to start associating the SNL characters with the real people.

4. The tidbit at the end of this Mark Cuban tweet raised my eyebrow. If I'm reading it correctly, he mentioned to Trump in a private message in May '16 that he (Cuban) might run for President some day and it might even be against Trump. Very interesting that Cuban made that public.

I would imagine this indeed more likely. ppl will be actively hurt by trumps policies and will still support him. they simply wont see it. they will continue to blame everything on mexican/black/muslim/immigrant/liberal.

its amazing and scary how strong a hold the media and republicans have on these ppl.

the President has claimed multiple times that there were in excess of 3 million illegal votes. Just this week he claimed illegal voters were shipped in on buses. This is blatantly stupid and false, and the Dems and the media ought to be hammering him to investigate it every single day as it's an easy way to prove that he's both a liar and an imbecile.

They already have, the problem is that the very few cases of fraud we have involved voting twice for...Trump. Nobody claims it never happens, and I think it will be difficult to make sweeping changes without ever demonstrating the kind of large-scale efforts they're claiming happened (i.e. "Ayotte lost re-election because people were bused in from Massachusetts").

That isn't to say they can't do it anyway, but I don't think finding one or two double Hillary voters out there somewhere is going to be the PR coup that tilts the scales for them - they'd need more.

It's very difficult to admit you have been wrong for so long. It's painful. So instead of putting themselves through that they put their fingers in their ears when someone tries to explain something to them and only read stuff from sources they typically agree with. Much easier that way and takes way less energy.

I had a trumpster celebrating the record high DOW. I asked her how much stock she owned.......answer was obviously none. Then I asked her when she was going to buy some stock and she said she would have to get a 3rd job. Head explodes.

They aren't going to find thousands or close to what they are claiming and you end with Trump saying "forget about what I said, listen to what I'm saying" on TV and they lose more rational Trump supporters.

Quote:
A senior National Security Agency official explained that NSA was systematically holding back some of the “good stuff” from the White House, in an unprecedented move. For decades, NSA has prepared special reports for the president’s eyes only, containing enormously sensitive intelligence. In the last three weeks, however, NSA has ceased doing this, fearing Trump and his staff cannot keep their best SIGINT secrets.

Since NSA provides something like 80 percent of the actionable intelligence in our government, what’s being kept from the White House may be very significant indeed. However, such concerns are widely shared across the IC, and NSA doesn’t appear to be the only agency withholding intelligence from the administration out of security fears.

What’s going on was explained lucidly by a senior Pentagon intelligence official, who stated that “since January 20, we’ve assumed that the Kremlin has ears inside the SITROOM,” meaning the White House Situation Room, the 5,500 square-foot conference room in the West Wing where the president and his top staffers get intelligence briefings. “There’s not much the Russians don’t know at this point,” the official added in wry frustration.

Just saw this go through my newsfeed a couple minutes after reading your post:

Haywood County man convicted of voting twice

Quote:
Dewey George Gidcumb Jr., 52, voted in the Republican primary during the early voting period and again on Election Day, the release states. He received a suspended sentence of five to 15 months, 12 months of supervised probation, 24 hours of community service and a $100 fine, plus court costs.

...
The jury found that Gidcumb “not only voted twice, but that he did so with intent to commit a fraud, which is required under state law in such cases,” the release states
Not clear who he voted for, but it takes a special kind of person to intentionally vote twice in a primary.

I'm gonna remain skeptical of that Observer Article because it fits a little too well into the narrative that many of us have crafted and want to continue, but it's def believable that people are holding back crucial Intel from the WH.

Four cases of voter fraud from 2016 so far, three against Republicans.

http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-s...ter-fraud-2016
Quote:
The Post’s research found a grand total of four documented instances of voters attempted to cast fraudulent votes. Not four percent, literally four individuals.

And most of them were Republicans.

No, really. A Trump voter in Iowa got caught trying to vote twice in Des Moines, and when asked for an explanation, she said, “The polls are rigged.” She was joined by a Texas Republican who claimed to be associated with the Trump campaign who tried to vote twice because he wanted to “test” the integrity of the system. (Evidently, the system works fine.) Also, a Republican woman in Illinois was caught filling out an absentee ballot for her deceased husband.

None of these votes, by the way, were counted.

As for the fourth case, a woman was hired to open absentee ballots in Miami-Dade County, and she was caught filling in others’ ballots in support of a Republican mayoral candidate.

That’s it. There are no other documented cases of voter fraud in the entire country in 2016. These four represent 0.000002% of the ballots cast, and again, they weren’t actually included in any official tallies.

If you’ve been led to believe fraud is a genuine problem in American elections, someone has tried to fool you.

Seems weird for him to post that if he isn't very sure that he will be running. But Cuban seems to be the type of guy that doesn't mind being open and transparent about pretty much everything, so maybe we are reading too much into it.

Not sure if him running after Trump's first term is the best idea though. I'm sure Cuban would be a 1000x better president than Trump but after 4 years of Trump I imagine that a lot of americans want a "normal, experienced politician" again.
