Don't confuse "highly educated" with "did ok as an undergrad at a top 10-20 school, where their views never changed from what they were in high school."

Any energetic moron can find ways to justify and extend their baseline ideology with more elaborate "justifications" over the course of a college education. It takes a normal to above average person to fashion their views according to the information at hand.

I know a guy who didn't veer from his staunch conservatism until his second year at Harvard Law School. Now he's something of a neo-Marxist.

I wondered that, but didn't want to look into it as it's so depressing. I assume that it can affect parental rights if the parents aren't married, but it's not obvious what else. But who knows, maybe it's legal to sacrifice them to the Tennessee God now.
