Maybe Trump ought to look into this Flynn thing.

Eta I'm looking into a new pony.

For those who don't, watch Rachel Maddow tonight.

Unreal.
02-11-2017 , 01:47 AM
things are moving?
02-11-2017 , 01:49 AM
Can things really go on at this pace for 4 years? It seems impossible. But a lot of things seemed impossible and then happened.
02-11-2017 , 01:59 AM
here it is

holy **** its huge, Flynn was in talk with the russians during Trump's campaign?! Confirmed?!

jesus. it's happening
02-11-2017 , 02:01 AM
Pretty sure that doesn't count because MSNBC is fake news.
02-11-2017 , 02:01 AM
So where does this go???

Nowhere like everything else or is something going to actually happen?
02-11-2017 , 02:02 AM
It is funny how the Trump family can make innocence remarks like "I love how snow is so clean and pretty but turns brown and nasty after a day" (which we all agree with) yet anyone can troll them. "I love how snow is so clean and pretty but turns brown and nasty after a day. Speaking of brown, that reminds me, I hate n@ggers!"
02-11-2017 , 02:04 AM
restart the elections, Sanders against Pence, lets go. ;D
02-11-2017 , 02:09 AM
I don't get the Maddow video - sounds like she's just summarizing/putting into context the same reporting by WaPo/NYT we've already seen?
02-11-2017 , 02:09 AM
So the intelligence community is finally fully off the Trump train. Popcorn level infinity.
02-11-2017 , 02:10 AM
I know I've mentioned this previously, but I am good friends w/ a Special Ed teacher deep in red Texas. She (and her family I should mention) went from pro Trump, to "give-him-a-chance" to "WTF is wrong with this guy?" in a matter of a month. They have a deep hatred of Hillary Clinton due to her being an uppity woman from ARKANSAS! and refused to vote for her. They now at the stage where it's HC's fault for cockblocking Bernie. I pointed out the fact that Trump beat 17 candidates that ran for the GOP. Was told he bought his way because he's a billionaire. I pointed out Jeb was as well. Was told "the system is a mess!" Cognitive Dissonance really is a bitch.

Trump, learning about things on the go
Quote:
The whole debate was new to Trump. As the White House’s transcript of the session where he made his joke makes clear (hat tip to Reason), the president didn’t appear to know what asset forfeiture was or what the debate over it entailed. This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise given that Trump, by his own admission, isn’t much of a reader, and has exhibited very little interest in questions of public policy. What’s interesting, though, is observing, through the transcript, the process of Trump puzzling through a new concept and trying to understand what it means and how it fits into his worldview.

....

So what’s striking here is the manner in which, over the course of an exchange that lasts perhaps a couple minutes, Trump progresses from learning of the existence of a new (to him) concept, to misunderstanding completely what it is and why it’s controversial, to developing a strong opinion about it painted in a childlike understanding of the world and of morality (“Who would want that pressure, other than, like, bad people, right?”), to expressing outrage that anyone could have an opinion about it that diverges from his own.
I didn't post the transcript because it's long but go ahead and read it and you'll see a guy who has no idea what the thing he's been brought into to talk about and immediately form a strong opinion about it. The guy doesn't have the critical thinking skills it takes to even form an even handed opinion about something, something even the most rudimentary hackneyed poster who has actually interacted with people who have political opinions can somewhat do. He's literally a child.

personally I had missed the part where the sources said the talks with russia were also happening during the campaign

Again...what happens now?

Nothing?

Like the past few weeks during this **** show. Does nothing happen?

I posted this on Facebook on my timeline about how Trump called Pocahontas the face of the Democratic Party.

No, Mr. President. Pocahontas (Nice slur by the way. What's next? Making fun of me for my hearing loss?) isn't the face of the Democratic Party. Elizabeth Warren is. She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted. #Winteriscoming

I'm hoping this rustles conservative feathers but I assume they'll just downplay it to being a ******. **** them.

So is this is like 30 seconds into round one of Hagler/Hearns? Or is it 30 seconds into Tyson/Biggs? Or is it 30 seconds into Mayweather/Pacquiao?

That's the question.

It's a summary, but she does emphasize something that I missed from the WaPo article - namely that Flynn had been in contact with Kislyak BEFORE the election.

Did Flynn have an official role in the campaign? If so, I do think it's a pretty big deal because it gets you close to coordination between both sides and not just a one way Russia helping Trump deal.

Yeah, no new info. Still just a lot of smoke and the Trumpkins will throw more snowballs on the Senate floor and ask, "if there was fire, how is snow still a thing?" Congress still won't impeach until his voters allow it and cognitive dissonance is so strong, especially in stupid people. We still need more.

Would love Alex Wice's commentary on the asset forfeiture transcript as it relates to Trump's pivoting, playing 4D chess, being a secret libertarian, etc etc.

It's moving towards Tyson/Holyfield. Soon we will hear "It's... it's over."

Dementia definitely a possibility. He watches TV. I still remember a story 60 minutes did on asset forfeiture a long time ago, some time in the 80s and everyone watched 60 minutes back in those days.

Nothing. Obviously nothing. No one cares. I saw that piece, and even I didn't care. Of course he was coordinating with a foreign government. Ldo. Flynn made a brave sacrifice committing treason so we wouldn't have emails in the White House. LOL at the idea that he will even get a demotion because of this. LITERALLY nothing will happen.

LOL'd hard at the snowballs part of this comment. But we don't need more. Everyone who cares already has fifty other things they want to impeach Trump for, and everyone else thinks it's fake news, sour grapes, but Obama, etc etc. You have Chaffetz in his town hall literally telling concerned citizens that the President is above the law. If it's something you need GOP political support for, forget it.

Just finished Command and Control. Great book. Not a reassuring read knowing Trump is in the WH, but very informative.
