The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

lol - I'm at my daughter's gymnastics practice right now and there is a sign on the wall with an inspirational quote attributed to Donald Trump (I believe it was there before the election). It looked fishy to me, so I looked it up and sure enough, he never said it.

I internally debating whether or not I should say anything.

I just made my first American friend after moving to the US.... and he's a Trumpkin! Nooooo. Connect on facebook...and just see a wall of derp.

Second, a lot of months ago when people were feeling the bern, I secretly worried that Clinton would win the primary and lose the general because it seemed like the nation didn't really like her. I worried she put her own desires to help the country ahead of actually helping the country. That turned out to be true as well.
Two days after the election.

Do you ever get tired of being wrong?

Don’t forget, the clock is ticking.

I laughed long and hard at Trump’s “Be careful!” Good day for people who hate Trump

D10. Before you write a lot of words that other people have to read, you should ask yourself.

Will this make the thread considerably worse?

Essentially. Just stop, god damn it dude.

We know that. But it's funny it happened today and anything that makes Daddy look bad is A-OK in my book.

Apparently Nunes dropped this on Bret Baier's Fox show within the hour:

Natasha Bertrand needs her own show.

I am amused that Fox isn't even trying to pimp this memo as a big deal. They are literally covering Super Bowl security instead.
02-02-2018 , 07:41 PM
Just got back from work any new news today?
02-02-2018 , 07:44 PM
fox knows with this administration odds are the memo will be mostly forgotten about in a few weeks.
02-02-2018 , 07:44 PM
When I picked up my daughter yesterday my mom let me know that she was making enchiladas bc they're releasing the memo tomorrow and she was going to be glued to the TV all day. She was giddy.

Today, no mention of the memo.

The type of person who when presented with facts and overwhelming evidence they are wrong only digs their heels in deeper can't be helped. He's had dozens of people tell him he's wrong over and over but in his mind this only confirms how smart he is and how dumb everyone else is. This isn't going to get any better.

I really don’t understand this at all. He basically wrote this memo right? So he can just write memos about whatever he feels like and then they become a big deal because......???

From the department of the boring, everyday evil brought by the Trump administration: DoJ quietly shuts down office dedicated to increasing access to legal aid

Quote:
The division, the Office for Access to Justice, began as an initiative in 2010 under former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to increase and improve legal resources for indigent litigants in civil, criminal and tribal courts. Though the head of the office reports directly to the associate attorney general, it never gained much visibility within the Justice Department because it did not oversee a large staff of prosecutors.

While Attorney General Jeff Sessions cannot close the office without notifying the Congress, he can sideline it by moving its resources elsewhere. Its offices now sit dark on the third floor of the Justice Department building. The staff of a dozen or so has dwindled and left the department over the past few months, the people said.
Quote:
The office’s stated mission was to “deliver outcomes that are fair and accessible to all, irrespective of wealth and status.” It worked with other federal, state and local entities in the justice system to “increase access to counsel and legal assistance” for people who could not afford lawyers.
And along similar lines: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau stripped of its enforcement power in lending discrimination cases

Quote:
The office previously used its powers to force payouts in several prominent cases, including settlements from lenders it alleged had systematically charged minorities higher interest rates than they had for whites.
Not anymore! Discriminate away, lenders!

Meanwhile, the Russia scandal is raising the possibility that Trump not only faces a difficult road to re-election but could end up impeached. Depending on how the mid-term elections in November turn out, he could find himself a lame duck. This raises the troubling question of whether he might consider a strike against North Korea as a way out of his domestic political crisis.

Indeed, White House National Security Council senior director for Asian affairs Matthew Pottinger was reported as saying in a recent closed-door meeting with US experts on Korean Peninsula issues that a limited strike on the North “might help in the midterm elections.”

he learned about hype from hollywood; you gotta set up a brand name franchise. THE MEMOS are iconic, like the game of thrones series people will love reading about all the characters and twists and turns and the incriminating evidence is coming, believe me, oh it's coming

The obvious false equivalence retort would involve Comey.
02-02-2018 , 07:53 PM
Trump needs to replace Rosenstein so he can either fire or control the Mueller investigation. Trump already made a fool of himself claiming he fired Comey because he derailed the Hillary campaign, the memo is a Trump(-ed) reason to fire Rosenstein. It doesn't matter how hollow the memo is, it's just a means to an end.
