Best part of the day was listening to people pronounce Gorsuch 189 different ways.

Chaffetz is one of the slimiest members of Congress, so this is good.

When's the last time anyone used the law that silenced warren?

The only reason not to use it is the likeliness they don't have hard proof.

Legal trouble aside, it's more evidence that Trump people are in cahoots with Russia. And it's yet another example of them lying about it.

But he is not insane. He is not mentally ill. Those factors and the fact that we are a nuclear superpower outweigh everything else AINEC.
I agree with this and Pence likely wouldn't be such a disaster when dealing with our allies. OTOH you may lose some of the outrage people have over Trump's "unique" ways.

the Logan Act of 1799 has never been successfully prosecuted because it's rare for Americans to undermine USA foreign policy and difficult in the past to prove. It doesn't follow that recorded conversations of Michael Flynn contemporaneously violating the Logan Act should be ignored.

The more Trump angrily tweets, the more I realize he is the tuff_fish of presidents.

HYACHACHA **** ME TO TEARS

That's assuming Trump didn't exact any concessions for saying this, which seems unlikely

ReactionaryTOM tweeting **** like "told you nothing bad will happen" while bad **** happens. Could a person have less self-awareness? I think not.

I'm still far from optimistic, but that Chaffetz town hall was nice to see.

I guess I'm repeating myself here, but it's just amazing how lazy Trump's hustling is. He's pimping Ivanka's clothing line QVC-style? How much money is he really making with that move? That's the kind of low-rent grifting we'd expect from Ron Paul or Ben Carson.

I mean, this man controls the executive branch of the most powerful government in the world and his investments are completely opaque. If he had ambition and intelligence, he could fleece billions of dollars from the US if he wanted to, the way so many African dictators have. Rig it so that the US military has to buy uniforms from a sub-sub contractor of one of Ivanka's garment factories. Use saber rattling to ruin the housing markets in some 3rd world country and then buy property on the cheap. Instead he just runs this nickel-dime bull****.

To be honest, fam, we're lucky President Trump is a fat 70-something oldster who just wants to watch Bill O'Reily, take a nap, and sell Trump Club membership cards instead of a younger, driven Gordon Gecko-style hustler who wants to raid the US Treasury for all it's worth.

They had 9 sources because the line was tapped. You know what does get prosecuted? Lying to the FBI gets prosecuted. All the time.

is there any obvious falsity in this, or other reason to disbelieve?

Seems pretty believable to me.

We're also lucky that there's near recod low crime and unemployment and no serious threats, foreign or domestic. What happens when the next delusional right wing narcissist, who may not be a total moran, comes calling after the GOP defaults on debt and, say, courts actually overstep thier power. Hopefully Trump will lead to a constitutional amendment or two (e.g., financial disclosure, prior public service, or what not).

I do seem to recall that tap warrants for the Trump campaign were issued in October. The problem is that they were FISA warrants, I don't know if those are admissible.

Maybe I'm being overly hopeful, but I think we're getting close to the other shoe dropping re: Russia.

The tap was standard cia stuff on russian diplomat. I don't know if flynn lied, but there's an ongoing investigation and i doubt he told FBI something different than he's been saying publicly. I assume he was questioned before or after the initial leaks about call, where he denied any sanctions discussion.

He wished Xi Jinping a happy lunar new year... two weeks late. Maybe a collective facepalm will diffuse tensions.

That won't save us. Hitler just straight-up fabricated terror plots and Polish invasions to justify his warmongering. Again, what saves us is that Trump is just some lazy fat old guy who wants to run penny-ante scams instead of a young delusional idealist who dreams of military conquest and geopolitical supremacy.
