Rex Tillerson is smart and non-crazy.

Does that make you any more hopeful?

Truthfully the only real hope here is that the US Constitution does its job and Trump isn't able to do anything along the lines of Idi Amin or Hitler.

And I have no doubt that he'll try, make no mistake.

I phrased that wrong, making it sound like whitehouse.org would return to normalcy.

Let the propaganda begin.

Is this also the bold prediction thread?

Predictions:

- This one is if/then. IF Trump or the republicans see trouble in 2018 or 2020 re-elections, THEN we will have terrorist problems.

- This is the last time you'll see or hear from Pence until the 2020 re-election campaign.

- Steve Bannon will be looking for a job in 2 years.

- Trump and Putin will fall out, starting a mini cold war.

- Trump will accidentally and personally offend no less than 8 world leaders his first term.

- Oil will go up until 2018, then trend back down.

- Trump will accidentally tweet classified information.

- Within 4 years Paul Ryan will become a red-faced, crying alcoholic.

. In our nation’s capital, killings have risen by 50 percent. There were thousands of shootings in Chicago last year alone.

As a Finn we are good. We are like the only part of the world where climate change doesn't do much. USA gets to enjoy the hurricane season even more but here we get maybe 5 more hot days for the summer up to 25. We are not part of the now defunct NATO. We don't have to rely on USA to scare the ruskies to not attack us. We have pretty good working relations with Putin. If Donald tanks the economy that could hurt thou.
01-20-2017 , 03:18 PM
We'll be sending tanks to support the Ruskies in Finland as a goodwill gesture to our new Russian friends

No, because he's corrupt.

Dubya at least had experience with politics, and knew simple things like the President hires their own White House staff.

I think Bush 2.0 is Trump's ceiling, and he's not going to even get close to it.

If Cheney pops up anywhere around the White House soon, we're in serious trouble. He's like Wormtongue.

The Electoral Integrity Project at Harvard University has investigated the degree of fairness and freedom of elections in 153 countries, including the US, with Reynolds' Index. It has analyzed the election funding, the registration of voters, the counting of votes, the electoral laws, the establishment of electoral districts. Out of 153 countries, America ranks 52nd. It ranks in the last place among the established Western democracies.
About Charter schools and Betsy DeVos
Quote:
23 years earlier an experiment had taken place in Michigan. At that time so-called charter schools were introduced (as in other countries). These schools should be financed by the taxpayer, but privately operated. The goal: more competition, and thus more quality in education. State supervision of schools has been abolished, the annual report of the Ministry of Education has been discontinued. The new schools, which in Michigan until today are mostly run for profit, were deprived of all control. Unentity closed old schools, and new opened, 150 in the last seven years. Children often had to change school several times. The result 23 years after the introduction of publicly funded private schools was a big mess.

One solution had to be made. In March 2016, Republicans and Democrats met to reform the school system. The compromise of the politicians envisaged the establishment of a commission, which should revise and review quality standards again. It was about giving back to the state the power that had been taken from him. Debates were held, conferences were held, the public was behind the compromise. But she had not reckoned with Betsy DeVos. The conservative billionaire had previously fought the state education system. And she made the Republicans realize that she would stay with her line. If the law were passed, it would deprive the Republicans of their massive financial support. The compromise had now come to an end.

The Republicans voted against the proposed law. As a reward, DeVos donated 1.45 million dollars to the party. Trump has made her his Minister of Education.

Thus, in Alabama, the supreme judge simply did not accept a verdict of the Constitutional Court and declared the homosexual marriage in Alabama to be unconstitutional.

The fact that this is possible has a single reason: the majority of judges in America are elected by the people every six to twelve years - by a people that increasingly represent more extreme positions in election campaigns, which are increasingly financed by interest groups. But if the courts are no longer impartial, then such expressions as the Donald Trumps fall on fertile ground. He had questioned the neutrality of a Mexican judge, who was preparing a trial against him.

How is democracy to be protected in these circumstances - in front of people like Trumps consultant Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, who wrote in an essay in 2009: "I no longer believe that freedom and democracy can be reconciled"? Before Stephen Bannon, Donald Trump's chief strategist, who calls himself an ethno-nationalist? Before a Republican Party, who intimidates the Chairman of the Ethics Committee to avoid the many conflicts of interest of their president?

So basically everything alread went to hit before Trump

Why on earth would you think he will do so? I can't think of a president more likely to go to war.

I wonder if it will be 9/11, which was already proclaimed by Obama, or, and this is what I suspect, it will be Trump's birthday.
