Really? LOLOLOL huh? Sounds like you're happy that Trump won. Hopefully you won't laugh so hard you get a hernia or something when the people at Standing Rock get shot.

JFC stupidity knows no bounds.

Shows how bad the HRC campaign was. Rural farm economies have done very well through the free trade deals but Hillary never brought that up. Iowa went Obama +6 2012 to Trump +10. Wisconsin Obama +7 Trump +1. Iowa's unemployment was under 4% and she manged to drop 16 percentage points. How does that happen?

These 43 Native Americans and hippies are to blame. Especially the hippies. Look at that white guy with the long dreds. It's 100% that guy's fault that Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't POTUS. She was really counting on that guy.

The calculus in my moms head:

80 million things she hates about Trump vs... Abortion.

It's a real Sophie's Choice for her.

I was thinking about this this morning. It seems like Trump thought that once he became president all the negative **** and horrible popularity ratings (which you know he cares about 100x more than any previous president) would go away.

Now that he realizes it won't - maybe he gets back to his roots of standing in opposition to (R) dogma and promising some free ponies for white people.

It's either that or start a war.

The most hardcore Bernie Bro on my FB feed (Bernie Babe actually) seems to be having a moment with DAPL. Her vitriol seems now over 50% directed at Trump instead of the democratic establishment - for the first time.

The election is over. You won. Congratulations. There's probably an unlocked 2016 elections thread you can post in. Go find it.

How much would axing mortgage interest on second homes and capping it at say 150% of the local median home price bring in?

So you admit people are irrational and act against their own self interests. But that emotional response is purely driven by the Democrats suckitude vs. not two decades of right-wing media identity politics and brainwashing? Sure.

Wait, you guys actually are supporting Jill Stein, etc. going hard in the paint against DAPL the week before the election?

I think it goes without saying that I'm against DAPL but also that it was ****ing obvious that if Trump won all of what happened would be irrelevant.
01-24-2017 , 01:17 PM
This system just isn't working.

We should directly elect the cabinet members or something and they shouldn't even talk about issues outside of their field and then the POTUS should be super weak.

It will be interesting to see the reaction from charities (read: churches) to this

90 million people didn't vote.

Yeah, it was a close election and there were a lot of things which could have made the difference. A big one was people voting for the worst candidate in the primaries.

Just 2nd homes? I'd think a lot of 2nd homes are bought with all cash deals as that is usually a more affluent buyer. Also, not many people/families own 2 homes in general.

Probably not much.

it would be reasonable of her to feel depressed after the tape leaked wherein her husband confessed to trying to bang a married woman by buying her furniture, and also confessed to sexually assaulting strange women as a matter of habit throughout his life. or maybe it was the story about how the national enquirer paid $3M to bury the first-hand story of a playboy playmate who donald cheated on melania with. so maybe she's depressed that she's stuck in a sham marriage with a villain who is now globally reviled. and she's given a prominent position with no official power, and the press is hounding her because she doesn't have all her immigration paperwork, and it's an extra bad look because her husband is openly extremely callus about immigrants in america who don't have their paperwork in order.

or maybe it's a combination of many things, that makes a girl sad.

Privilege is white Bernie Bros who posted 10 things about DAPL every day refusing to vote for HRC or Trump.

Ok looks like it's capped at debt of $1.1M either way? https://www.americanprogress.org/iss...est-deduction/

So yeah not a huge break for the super wealthy.

Our electorate was collectively too stupid and uninformed to figure out that Trump should have been unelectable... Do you really want them trying to figure out what the Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Energy, Secretary of Agrigulture, etc, do, and who would be good at it?

If you're counting on apathy among the masses and low turnout with only the informed voting, I'd say that's the kind of thing that makes a nutjob even more likely to win by only needing a smaller plurality of the populace to vote for them.

Bolded part is obvious, of course, and a huge understatement - but we mostly all agree on that here.

Time to ban religion completely and any reference to it in government and law making. If asked why you believe something should be a law and you reference god, it's automatically thrown in the trash. People like this should not be in power. They lack intelligence and common sense.
