Just for the sake of my sanity - there is no nuclear option that can bypass the filibuster for new legislation right?

I mean the Republicans can of course just do away with the filibuster altogether but they'll probably fold new legislation into a budget reconciliation bill.

Tim Scott voted in favor of Sessions

Spicer when questioned about Sen. Warren being shut down when trying to read Coretta Scott King's letter about Jeff Sessions:

Obviously we have a lot of respect for her (King) and the sacrifices she made and had to endure.

*proceeds to take a verbal dump on her memory by glorifying sessions record on civil and voting rights "then and now"*

How are people plotting and committing treason handled?

Will they cut funding of regressive universities and sanctuary cities?

No one has more respect for Pocahontas than Sean Spicer.

Krugman:

Quote:
Big tax cuts — and savage cuts to social programs — are still very much on the Congressional Republican agenda, and they could put it all together, hand it to Bannon, and have Trump sign it without reading. But I’m starting to wonder: surely they planned to unveil things during the Trump honeymoon, with the public prepared to believe that it was all done with the little guy’s interests in mind. Even pre 9-11 Bush could count on media goodwill and supine Democrats to ram through his tax cuts.

But now? With massive public distrust, and media fully willing to do real reporting on the distribution of tax cuts, not “Democrats say that the rich are the big winners”? With the media infatuation on Serious, Honest Paul Ryan at least temporarily dented by his avid support for Muslim bans and all that? Maybe they’ll do it anyway, but it seems a lot less certain than it did in November.

At this point I’m starting to wonder whether there will be any real movement on economic policy, as opposed to random insults aimed at allies.

"Good" question. No. Also, would they hang a treasonous president?

To be fair, Mamie Eisenhower had the same problem.

yeah i was wondering if the fbi is waiting to catch trump red handed, or if the fbi has been completely co-opted by the vocal minority of far-right agents who are friends with giuliani and who think clinton cash is all the background they need to lock a bitch up

I think they are going to wait until fewer people are paying attention.

Franken is getting a bit on in years isn't he? We need to take a page out of the jfk playbook and nominate somebody young and pretty

Well at least fox admits they're ok with mass executions of non christians and using chemical weapons on anyone who isn't a kurd. Can't say they're fake news there.

Is McConnel's 4D chess here to make Elizabeth Warren the center of attention and hope that it's a distraction from the clown show?

Hard to imagine he was just straight tilted by her but I guess it's possible...
