The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Impressive in less than a month Trump has locked in the title of worst of all time president. Not only that but it's not even close.

The Japanese Prime Minister is coming to the US @ the end of the week. After meeting in DC on Friday, the PM and the Pres will head to Mir A Lago for some sun, fun, and, of course, golf. Unsurprisingly, the financial details of the trip are unclear.

Ugh.

Not surprising for the simple fact that it's the President / White house. That's precisely why it's such a huge deal that non-stop lies keep coming with little resistance. There should have been interviews like Tapper/Conway several times per day, every day, on all the networks. Press showing some signs of life, but **** sake it's slow coming, especially after how hard MSM screwed America for profit in the primary and general elections.

OTTAWA—Canada’s foreign affairs minister says she warned Washington any border tax on Canadian imports would trigger retaliation by Ottawa.

Chrystia Freeland, fresh off a blitz of meetings in the U.S. capital with her counterpart U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and other Washington powerbrokers, said there are no firm American proposals and many “divergent” views in D.C. on a potential renegotiation of the North American free trade deal and on a possible border tax on imports to the U.S.

President Donald Trump has vowed both.
.
So, you have Germany, Mexico, Britain and Canada saying they're preparing countermeasures to USA this week. Good job guys.

Man, Matt Taibbi has some great lines. Re Spicer:

I don't think that's why he won. There were many factors why he won.

But if people who can reasonably talk about islamism are constantly shouted down and demonised, only unreasonable people are left to talk about it.

You're not one of those people.

I'm sort of on this train. If Trump is the choice of close to a majority of the most prosperous and developed nation on the planet, the moral case for preserving humanity takes a hit. Hopefully we can develop real AI in the next 50 years. If it is fully self-aware, has interests, and is much smarter than humans, then I'm not sure why we should be "speciest". That is, if the ultimate goal is the existence and preservation of minds and the furtherance of truth and "the good" or justice, then I don't see the point of privileging a species where 1) most humans are incurious or incapable of understanding basic reality and 2) a substantial percentage can be "fooled" into voting for Trump. In any event, it should be clear that humans have more in common with monkeys and dogs than idealized rational agents.

It's 100% the reason that he and all of his surrogates rhetoric is mostly babble, imo. This guy has been on TV his whole life. He's just playing a part.

I'd be fine with either option. I think she would make an amazing President or Vice. Same goes for Newsom. He's done great work as the deputy governor in Cali

Incidentally, this is Chrystia Freeland:

"Freeland is the author of Sale of the Century, a 2000 book about Russia's journey from communism to capitalism[4] and Plutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else in 2012.[5][6] Plutocrats was a New York Times bestseller, and the winner of the 2013 Lionel Gelber Prize for non-fiction reporting on foreign affairs.[7] It also won the 2013 National Business Book Award for the most outstanding Canadian business-related book."

She is a sharp lady who probably knows more about international trade laws and issues than Tillerson.

It's a mistake to think the media is going to save us or turn hard on Trump. They remained DOD cheerleaders long after Iraqi part duex was revealed to be complete bull****. They will cover AND normalize a great deal of the malfeasance that's coming for at least the next 4-8 years, because it's in their best interest, and they have a responsibility to their shareholders.

Master, I suspect you were college roomates with Newsom or are one of his main advisers. Literally no one outside of SF or maybe Alameda county thinks he'd make a good candidate in a national election. Hell, why not just run Pelosi?

Is Spicer a manlet? I tried googling but no success. I get the vibe he's like 5' 6".

Edit: Looks like he's a shorty, unless the woman is an Amazonian.

I have to agree. I'm guessing the market for quality journalism has increased a lot recently and I hope that results in a least some support, but not holding my breath.
