John McCain tweets "74 more followers to 3M, spread the word!" and loses 30,000 followers from people angry about the tax bill

(seems like he's since gained roughly that many back, must have reached the DERPOSPHERE)

I may have left out some steps but that's the basic skeleton of the idea
You forgot a huge step. This is what evangelical Christians expect and pray for, and what some of them work every day to accomplish.

You're expecting lol human behavior to rationally complement lol human beliefs.

Have you read Think, Fast and Slow yet? It really needs to be on your list if you haven't.

Trump signed another six-month waiver re: moving the embassy to Jerusalem, so it's not happening

lol

edit: Saudi King told Trump he shouldn't do it

i think most likely is starting a nuclear war with north korea and suspending elections indefinitely. like in spain, some states will have elections anyway but trump will deny them as legitimate

and certainly a saddam hussein type of trial where trump stands up and yells at the judge that the judge is under arrest and the trial is illegal is of course still possible
Trump is a coward like Hitler. Making public appearances in front of supporters and accusing opponents of nothing, but when it becomes obvious that things will end in failure they both will become silent and nowhere to be found. He'll probably make some last ditch plea to his supporters to do some stuff, but then when that proves futile he'll commit suicide during the trial.

It's ridiculous how easily controlled our President is. I just envision the Saudi King walking up to Trump saying, "Nice hotel you're planning to build here such a shame if something were to happen to it." and Trump doing whatever the king says.

In some ways, Trump is far more delusional than Hitler ever was.

Fox also notes, correctly, that this stuff is just done to appease the right-wing 'Christian' base.

People will be pissed and it's a ****ing terrible decision, but I don't think there will all of a sudden be violence everywhere.

Everyone said the same thing when bin Laden was killed. Most people just want to live their lives man.

I went out shopping with my mother-in-law this afternoon and asked her about that plan. She's extremely religious. Church all the time, praying for everything, youngest kid's in a Catholic HS atm. It wasn't a wise decision. She looked at me like I was nuts. Thanks a lot!

I did learn that he's coming back some day though. That was what I learned today

Apparently the US Consulate is taking it seriously

Quote:
The US Consulate General in Jerusalem issued a security warning to US residents in the city on Tuesday, with an impending 'day of rage' announced by Palestinians in response to US President Donald Trump's phone calls announcing his intentions to move the embassy to Jerusalem.

"With widespread calls for demonstrations beginning December 6 in Jerusalem and the West Bank, U.S. government employees and their family members are not permitted until further notice to conduct personal travel in Jerusalem’s Old City and in the West Bank, to include Bethlehem and Jericho," the notice reads. US citizens are informed to avoid areas with "crowds crowds have gathered and where there is increased police and/or military presence."

In that environment, I think even the current Congress would be forced to impeach.
Even if all of this would not force his removal, it's difficult to see how this old, fat, rageaholic would manage to hold it together and not drop dead of a heart attack due to the stress of seeing his loved ones heading off to prison and his entire empire crumbling.

LOL Arny is probably right. It would be par for the course as far as this Admin goes.

I guess the only possible thing is prosecute his family members, maybe go after the Trump organization? But Trump can pardon them, so, we are back to Muller being toothless. The only other possibility seems to be that Trump just gets upset for some reason and doesn’t have the intelligence/discipline to play the long game and he rage-fires him. I certainly can’t rule that out, but it doesn’t seem as likely people seem to think.
This argument is too cute by half. Everyone keeps forgetting that Schneiderman was reported to be working with Mueller. There's a reason for that. If you think that Trump's family members haven't committted seriousl state level financial crimes (that are not pardonable) then you aren't paying attention.

I don't expect people to be rational, or maybe the bigger problem is just people not being honest with themselves or others. I just don't respect the word "belief" when it doesn't really mean you believe something and it just means you're choosing to pretend that you believe it. More or less.

I haven't read it and just put it on hold at the library.
