Along with what AllTheCheese pointed out about this going viral shoring up McConnell's support with his base, they don't give a **** if people get mad about this because Sessions is getting confirmed no matter what and the anger will dissipate.

Short, good article about the horrors reinflicted on a family of a murdered woman in Australia, simply due to Trump team's lack of ability to check their facts

He capitalizes police chiefs and sheriffs too.

I don't see it changing anyone's opinion either. We're talking Elizabeth Warren. The Executive Branch is actively calling the press liars and telling them to STFU and getting cheered on for it. It's not like McConnell cancelled The Walking Dead or shut down the NFL.

Can't find much on the public stances of the group he's speaking in front of, but the one recent "political" statement from them was against Donald's EO to withhold federal funding from sanctuary cities.

Ripping the judges and asking the opinion of officers at his meeting lol. What a ****.
02-08-2017 , 10:23 AM
He's literally breaking down the statute or whatever word for word like he knows better than some judges lmao
02-08-2017 , 10:24 AM
This is compelling. I don't know why he didn't just show up to oral arguments yesterday.

Ageism is fun.

I'd bet each SCOTUS Justice knows the relevant legal details / arguments better than you on both sides of net neutrality.

He doesn't understand that its not just the judges interpreting what a law says but often they are determining whether a law complies with the constitution.

Is Trump living in some paranoid fantasy world? Waves of Muslims aren't trying left and right to come in to the US and murder everyone. We do that just fine on our own with our insane homicide rates. I would think jobs, health care, parental leave, child care, wages, etc would be the pressing concerns for the average American.

Personally, national security is like #30 on my personal priority list. We have the strongest military in the world by far and are separated by two oceans from the rest of the world. I'm not feeling the boogeyman scare that Trumps feels.

It is a strange prioritization, as I've been assured Trump's voters have a decent, racially egalitarian heart and wanted nothing more of Trump than to find them jobs and give them the dignity of a middle class life again. So I must say I find it odd that they have spent most of the first month in office focused on travel bans. I wonder if the assumptions about what Trump would prioritize and the desires of his voters may be different than what I was told.

President Donald Trump spent much of a recent phone call with French President Francois Hollande veering off into rants about the U.S. getting shaken down by other countries, according to a senior official with knowledge of the call, creating an awkward interaction with a critical U.S. ally.

While the Hollande call on Jan. 28 did touch on pressing matters between the two countries — namely the fight against the Islamic State — Trump also used the exchange to vent about his personal fixations, including his belief that the United States is being taken advantage of by China and by international bodies like NATO, the official said.

At one point, Trump declared that the French can continue protecting NATO, but that the U.S. “wants our money back,” the official said, adding that Trump seemed to be “obsessing over money."

“It was a difficult conversation, because he talks like he’s speaking publicly,” the official said. “It's not the usual way heads of state speak to each other. He speaks with slogans and the conversation was not completely organized.”
Great, just f*cking great.

Lawl, so Pro Publica did find evidence of a potential Bowling Green massacre.
Quote:
The year was 2012. The place was Bowling Green, Ohio. A federal raid had uncovered what the authorities feared were the makings of a massacre. There were 18 firearms, among them two AR–15 assault rifles, an AR–10 assault rifle and a Remington Model 700 sniper rifle. There was body armor, too, and the authorities counted some 40,000 rounds of ammunition. An extremist had been arrested, and prosecutors suspected that he had been aiming to carry out a wide assortment of killings.

“This defendant, quite simply, was a well-funded, well-armed and focused one-man army of racial and religious hate,” prosecutors said in a court filing.

The man arrested and charged was Richard Schmidt, a middle-aged owner of a sports-memorabilia business at a mall in town. Prosecutors would later call him a white supremacist. His planned targets, federal authorities said, had been African-Americans and Jews.

In this case at least he's not meeting with customs officers, but Trump complaining to cops about judicial decisions is a lot worse than just him being an ignoramus.
