Arizona might land in the D column, but TN will probably end up electing a Roy Moore clone. I don't know if these GOP senators calling it quits is good or not. The Senate so far has been where the bad bills go to die.

Yeah, but pro-rata stock dividends literally do not have any effect, and do not increase the value of the stock you hold.

It's basically the same thing as a stock split.

Regarding awval's constitutional theory, what about property taxes? If one argues something stupid like the government is charging a service fee or something instead of a tax on property, the same can be said for all wealth, which is all dependent on lots of government.

Eh, the effects of income vs. wealth taxes would probably be quite different here.

Many high income tax states are able to do this because it's much harder to still earn the high income if you move to a low tax state. If you just have a pile of money and someone threatens to tax it, it would be much easier to move for avoidance purposes.
