Lol imagine if they held Africa to that same standard.

Time for some game theory

Quote:
When both players in the Prisoner's Dilemma are rational, cooperation is the wisest strategy. But when one player relentlessly seeks to undermine the other, self-preservation—and even basic self-respect—demand a tit-for-tat strategy of resistance. The upside for Democrats in blocking Gorsuch is*that it will further*motivate*their*already fired-up*base*voters,*and force*McConnell*to be the one*to end the filibuster*for*high court*nominees.*And the downside*to full-scale resistance?*Given that Republicans are offering no cooperation of any kind to Democrats, it's not clear that*there is one.

Republicans have such a huge advantage in any game - in that their base wants to obstruct everything*, while the Democrats' base actually want govt to work.

*Except for stuff like Medicare - which has always existed outside the realm of government and just functions by God's hand.

I do think the Democrats could gain something from going the McConnell route and fillibustering EVERYTHING just for the sake of it.

But I have also heard that McConnell could make moves to try to change the rules? Is it possible to do that? Seems desperately unfair if so.

I don't really see why in Congress at least Dems couldn't just be partisan and obstructionist. What goes around comes around afterall, and ... it *worked* for McConnell.

Is there any thinking on why they shouldn't do it? I've been intrigued by this.

There is an argument to say though, that these are exceptional circumstances and that you don't ever want to work *with* a Trump administration just on basic principle.

Even though some of those infrastructure bills he'll try to pass might look tasty.

Donald Trump's administration does have some upside, it let us learn that Crow T. Robot from MST3K is a secret badass

Wait. O'Reilly or O'Rourke?

O'Rourke is an even rarer type, he's not even racist and incredibly is an actually funny right winger. TBH he's pretty much a moderate Democrat these days.

Never thought we'd get to the day where our President would be asking the media to give terrorists more than the 24/7 window they basically already enjoy. Trump, Bannon & Conway are legit insane.

Their conclusion is correct, but I hate the oversimplifications along the way.

Not just terrorists: attakers.

Imagine saying with a straight face the attack in Paris was underreported.

How does "attackers" get misspelled half of the times? The amount of grammatical errors from this administration is so pathetic.

Poor ol' 5th largest economy in the world just barely getting by.

Without California and New York holding them back Alabama and Arkansas would be bursting with prosperity.

Both CA and IL pay more than they get back and most of that $ goes to red states--they should go non compliance. Problem solved. Everybody wins but people that voted trump (though they'll think they won anyway, so everybody wins).

Goddamn this is too f'ing funny.

More than being lampooned as a press secretary who makes up facts, it was Spicer’s portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president’s eyes, according to sources close to him
