We need a person the GOP doesn't already a dossier of dirt on to win in 2020.
Everyone who paid close attention knew about Obama three years before the election. The closest thing the Dems have right now is Jason Kander (who would wafflecrush Trump) but he doesn't have the position to jump from that Obama had.

Kamala Harris would be an amazing president, would never happen though. A black woman president in the US will not happen for at least 40 years.

You're overestimating the amount of information the average voter holds onto. Ask a random adult who the keynote speaker was at this year's DNC and see what answer they give. Maybe 10% get it and that was just last year.

Given how effective mudslinging and fake news are among the right-wing nuts, I fully expect a host of scandals and nonsense to be available for any Democrat who may potentially run for office. Obama was perfect in that he hadn't been around long enough to have a huge wad of contradicting statements and votes to attack him on.

I mean what's the closest we have to Obama now? Cory Booker?

I like Warren a lot but she won't beat Trump. The deplorables will never get tired of doing this if she's running.

I think there is a decent chance that a majority of voters end up swinging hard left after this horrific abomination of a presidency. People die from lack of health care after Trumps executive order, possibly get nuked, Mueller has completely damning evidence Trump was directly involved with Russian in the election scandal and Republicans covered it up for him. Economy might tank, deficit will balloon massively if the tax cuts get passed.

We're all discussing the best options against Trump right now, but this will probably be a very different picture in 3 years.

During his sitdown, Spicer was grilled about the firing of former FBI director James Comey and his statements regarding the firing, as well as about Trump’s meetings with Russians officials including one with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Oval Office, one person familiar with the meeting said.
Come on Spicey, get your revenge!

Now we can tell you about another potential honey pot for Mueller. Former colleagues of Sean Spicer tell Axios that he filled "notebook after notebook" during meetings at the Republican National Committee, later at the Trump campaign, and then at the White House.
When Spicer worked at the RNC, he was said to have filled black books emblazoned with the party's seal. Spicer was so well-known for his copious notes that underlings joked about him writing a tell-all.
One source familiar with the matter said that the records were just to help him do his job.
"Sean documented everything," the source said.
That surprised some officials of previous White Houses, who said that because of past investigations, they intentionally took as few notes as possible when they worked in the West Wing.
Hopefully those notebooks get subpoenaed.

I wonder how many of us will still be alive in 30 trump years for the 2020 so-called election.

Ya she has it all imo. Smart, charismatic and likeable. Not to mention compare and contrasting the Obama years to the Trump **** show will be a slam dunk winner imo.

Internal White House documents allege manufacturing decline increases abortions, infertility, and spousal abuse
White House officials working on trade policy were alarmed last month when a top adviser to President Trump circulated a two-page document that alleged a weakened manufacturing sector leads to an increase in abortion, spousal abuse, divorce and infertility, two people familiar with the matter said.

The documents, which were obtained by The Washington Post, were prepared and distributed by Peter Navarro, director of the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy. They were presented without any data or information to back up the assertions, and reveal some of the materials the Trump administration reviewed as it was crafting its trade policy.

...

Two administration officials gave differing accounts of Navarro’s memo, which was prepared and shared last month. One described the documents as staff level, but another said the paperwork was shared with cabinet secretaries during internal deliberations.

...

The fourth round of talks wrapped up on Tuesday amid pointed remarks and with few signs of progress. Negotiators said the talks would have to be extended beyond the original deadline into 2018.

I know Warren used to be a Republican. So did Hillary, though that was before college. Warren certainly is an avid consumer advocate and corporate and finance sector watchdog. And she seems very on the social safety net/socialist side too. So business/economics left. Also, like pretty much all reasonable people and virtually no Republicans, she wants action on climate change. I suppose she has some centrist/moderate positions on social issues?
10-17-2017 , 10:20 PM
Probably too hard for trump to bring himself to actually say "I'm sorry" even when it's consoling someone for their loss.

Nobody is talking about the racial aspect of this. He wouldn’t talk down to a white widow like this.

That's weird. I feel the exact opposite. She seems very charismatic and likeable to me.

Obviously every Trump supporter and those who lean in that direction automatically hate her.

I've watched a couple talks E. Warren gave that were not campaigning and I find her very likeable and that's not to say that she's annoying when campaigning either. I wouldn't go so far as charismatic, but charming in a nerdy way.
