Honestly, it sounds a bit like you're bristling at the suggestion that codeine is more freely available here, and want to emphasise the opiate problem in the US to counter the implication that Irish people enjoy a freedom Americans don't. The news has been full of opiate epidemic stuff for at least the last two years, it's not like you think you're giving me new information.
