It's just easier and more relaxing to put them on your ignore list. They're well beyond the point of no return. But people like feeling superior.

So you want to go on record saying the majority here doesn't advocate shutting down free speech they don't like? I'll hold "you" to it. None of you thought closing down Trump's campaign speech in Chicago was a good thing?

A moderator here certainly implied he was OK with Milo being shut down from speaking by violence:

A fellow name einbert wrote this:

Sure sounds like justification of shutting Milo down to me, even though the UC administration allowed the show to go on....

This einbert fellow also wrote:

If written in the middle of the Milo discussion this doesn't advocate taking extralegal means to 'follow your conscience', I don't know what does.
Yeah none of that stuff matches any of the stuff I said. Reported you to the moderators for making false statements and not backing up claims when challenged, you will probably be banned shortly.

Either way, you're going on my ignore list.

Since he's clearly posting like a kellyanne conway wannabe and has no interest in actually discussing, can we time out this dullard?

No, I'm not talking about custody. That's a thorny issue with a lot of holdover from outdated attitudes. I'm just talking about the 'statutory abortion' idea where the father of an unplanned child can just cut and run.

LOL even the Governor is getting into the refugee welcoming act in SLC. Mormons, **** Yeah.

Carson is extremely smart in one specialized area, and quite dumb in most everything else.

A minor unsubstantial thingy....
1) pretty sure we still have eight sc justices.

2) trump had nothing to do with that.

3) lol nominating a sc justice is a campaign promise.

You're not thinking this through far enough. Terrorist attacks are small potatoes. Trump is inciting nuclear war. What do you think the targets will be when the nukes start flying back to the US? Not small town Republican enclaves. We're going to lose our major cities. New York will be solid red once all those liberals in NYC are wiped out. If Trump updates the insurance policies on his properties to pay out in the event of nuclear war it's time to start panicking.

If the father doesn't have the rights to cut and run then he does need equal rights/likelihood of gaining custody. Keeping outdated custody rules with modern abortion rules (the latter of which are absolutely a societal positive and in my mind undeniably morally correct) makes absolutely no sense and is not an acceptable situation.

Not addressing Carson specifically, but there are a lot of very smart people who aren't really that well spoken. There are also well spoken people who aren't that smart.

I don't follow Carson that closely, but considering he's smart enough to be a brain surgeon and still often says stupid things, my first thought would be that he's incurious and arrogant.

When Trump shuts down a protest by any means possible - you will be in here shaking your pom poms as hard as you can. Spare me the pearl clutching.

I don't know how to embed tweets, but Trumps latest tweet is loltastic:

@realdonaldtrump: Why aren't the lawyers looking at and using the Federal Court decision in Boston, which is at conflict with ridiculous lift ban decision?
So now he is taking to twitter to badmouth his own DOJ attorneys who are defending his stupid ban?

Why is Trump capitalizing federal court?

Just a pet peeve of mine I guess but there seems to be a correlation between random capitalization and idiocy.

I may or may not agree. I've thought about the issue and agree that it seems like a problem, but I don't really have a good solution. Say we make every birth of a child to parents who aren't together a custody battle to be determined by the state. What are the criteria? Whoever's richer? Will favour men. Criminal record = you lose? Will favour women. It's difficult to foresee a set of criteria that won't import the prior inequalities in the system.

This logic will help the next Hitler rise to power and commit atrocities... By your logic nobody is as bad as Hitler until they're as bad as Hitler. We can't accuse them until they've killed millions of people in a genocidal cleansing, or we're "unserious."

Comparing the rise of one authoritarian/fascist leader to another is how you stay on the lookout. Hopefully Trump never gets anywhere near Hitler, but comparing them now helps prevent that.

I have been meaning to address this point for a while, so I responded even though you strike me as a Russian troll Trumper with a lack of command of the English language. It's an important point to be made either way.

Meanwhile, instead of looking for ways to get rid of the E.C. and gerrymandering, Republicans are looking for ways to rig the system further so that the will of the people is even less represented:

The above statement, when applied to the President of the United States, ought to be utterly ludicrous. It's not even disputable. That's terrifying.
