Fix ACA.
Reduce corporate taxes by 10%.
Codify DACA.
Throw Trump a bit of funding for his WALL.
Pass a couple thousand in tax cuts for incomes <$500k

Call it a year.

Why is so ****ing hard.

an easy way to change awval to awful is to replace the VA with a big FU, which is another horrible republican idea awval voted for

I'd be pushing that hard plus calling out supposed fiscal conservatives and balanced budget people on this boondoggle.

Instead we have pulled out of Paris, are ruining relations with multiple other countries, enacted a Muslim ban twice, etc. etc.

Hillary would be just as bad tho!

microbet is definitely right, btw. Construction workers just don't have a PR campaign like silicon valley and the GOP's latching onto STEM fellation as anti-intellectual signaling.

Kinda like every time I see Clovis I think "that dummy probably still thinks Megan Joy is a good singer"
She is still hot.

P.s. Had to google her to remember her. Lol me.

Maybe not racially egalitarian but quite possibly a swing voter, IMO.

I do agree with you that Fox mostly reinforces. And I also agree that probably most of the people they are "converting" were actually conservatives all along.

But I do think Fox has converted a sizable number of true swing voters. Especially the low-info, pre-disposed to racism type. Maybe they used to lean left on economic issues or foreign policy or whatever. But you watch Fox long enough with all of its emotional appeals and soon it's chipping away at the other stuff too.

I haven't watched it yet but "The Brainwashing of my Dad" is supposed to explore this. People are really easy to manipulate.

Also agree with SUB's post above that Fox was considered more legitimate 10-20 years ago and there were lots of people who started watching around that time who got suckered in and didn't realize it was propaganda.

Likewise, Fox is the default news channel in many areas (particularly the south). So there are lots of people who casually watch it at work or at the hospital or whatever and maybe they get started that way.

Why do American corporations need so much relief? Corporate profits reached an all-time high in 2014.

Single payer?

what are you defunding to make up for this? medicare? military?
% chance awval responds to this?

He needs their votes in the R mid term primaries to keep most of the House in line, too. The threat of getting primaried is almost certainly real in many districts.

Just ignore Trump's racist showboating, you guys. It's that simple, apparently.

You want to see center left legislation passed, you know the GOP would never do it (you admit they'd obstruct HRC who would be far away the most likely to sign any center left bill), and yet you still vote for these guys because????

Because the GOP he knows is never going to pass anything keeps telling him they will and he keeps falling for it.

That isn't an accident like the weather. It's to do with broadcasting laws. It's to do with the extreme-right character of the US Supreme Court and the abolition of the Fairness Doctrine.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

Which in turn is to do with the intrinsic nature of the United States, which was founded purely to preserve slavery, and the defective nature of the Constitution, which makes the Supreme Court politically appointed. ('And we just don't see what could possibly go wrong with that! Yee hah!')

You should perhaps be questioning is whether your confidence in things is at issue rather than the things you are confident about. It's not a good thing to be so certain about things that there's no rational for being so certain about.

It's a common issue that dogs all politics and many other things. People do love their certainty and simplicities but it's generally way OTT.

Is this like galactic brain both sidesism? I found his post insightful. Yours, less so.
