I think green card holders can work for anyone and if they quit or get fired or something they can find another job. I'm not sure how long they can be unemployed, but maybe for a long time. I think a guest worker (now the limited H2 visa I think) has to have an employer sponsor and if they fire you or if you quit you have to leave the country.

In Qatar there was a scandal around the World Cup, but it's just the standard form of labor in the rich gulf states. Something at least like slavery is very common around the world. There's some of it in the US and certainly lots of it around products that we consume.

Dreamers are the same. They made no decisions. They were brought to USA as kids. It's the only country they know. They have committed no crimes.

If I discovered I wasn't born in USA but outside of it and I was brought here before I could remember things, that changes nothing about me. USA would still be the only country I know. To ship me to another country where I have no contacts, no connections, and can't speak the language would be pointless cruelty. Speaking of NK, I was listening to an interview of a political science professor at a university in Vladivostok. They interviewed him partly because he was reporting on the nuclear test as he could feel it there. It's not far from NK. Russia and NK share a border. Anyway, he says they have a ferry that runs between the two and there are like 5000 North Koreans in Vladivostok. Most of them are construction workers, but there are also business people and students at his university.

And the 10 years after that (well we can probably discount the final few years of his father's reign given that his penchant to take on the West wasn't quite as it was with his ailing his health) but certainly in the last 6 years with Kim Jong-Un that there needed to be more of an effort from the international community and especially the US to crack down on him with at least greater economic sanctions. The failing relationship with China certainly didn't help either.
