Hurts business.

If the Chamber of Commerce doesn't like Trump he's going to have a harder time finding friends in Congress.

See @hanamkim for more info on hearing.
Does this really matter? Won't Trump just direct CPB and others to ignore it?

He can't legally.

Part of me wants Trump to ignore the judiciary ruling for the lulz.

Exactly. One of the big driving forces behind NC electing a Democratic Governor recently was corporate backlash to the bathroom bill. Big corporations are naturally opposed to a lot of the stuff the Trump administration is going to try to do, so we need to constantly work to leverage them against each other. It's a winning platform for The People.

When the corporation that designed the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant and a porn website are boycotting your entire state, you know you've done something horribly wrong.

General Electric and xHamster are among the list—that also includes Ringo Starr and Bruce Springsteen—of beings and corporations that are refusing to do business with North Carolina for its recent banning of local LGBT nondiscrimination ordinances and requirement that transgender people use public bathrooms that match their birth certificates.

Let's keep the boycotts coming, folks, and maybe we can get the NBA to pull the 2017 All-Star game and the NFL to relocate its May team owners meeting (both in Charlotte).

I'm not sure he will want to go full fascism so early in his mandate but what do I know.

That's not true. Republicans put every single E.O. he made through the legal ringer, and he complied with every judicial order.

Didn't he kill us citizen on the mere suspicion he was a terrorist? That's pretty illegal if you ask me.

Got to imagine the inclusion of final paragraph here is light trolling..

Okay you got a point there.

Him killing that citizen is the one thing damn near every Republican agrees with Obama on.

My main point is that the law is flexible according to political reality. Of course violating principles such as due process is much lighter than deciding to overrule a judiciary ruling but they both can be done if the political conditions are there.

Killing Al-Alwaki wasn't illegal. The President's war power isn't trumped (lower case) by US citizenship.

We're in uncharted waters here. He can't legally do what you're suggesting, but who will stop him? What we saw last weekend is that all of those checks and balances we Americans are so proud of ultimately boil down to gentlemen's agreements and respect for tradition.

It's like a modern-day Lysistrata.

The question is whether the trolling was by a civil servant trolling Trump or a Tillerson appointee trolling the rest of us.

It's relevant because you don't know the law or what went on behind the scenes before the attack.

I have no idea how she became the most vulnerable Cabinet nom, but it's looking like the one spot we might get a win, which has people pretty fired up.

Devos hates public schools. Teachers have figured that out. As have parents whose children have disabilities.
