To be honest, I'm surprised that there haven't been more racially motivated public incidents in the US since Trump was elected (eg protests at police brutality against blacks with the KKK turning up etc). It can only get worse from here surely.

FWIW, sitting the UK, I can't get my head around how any country can think it's OK for people to attend high sensitive protests/rallies carrying guns legally. Barking mad.

The "us" thing is a transcription error of what sounded like "them" that was muffled, btw don't spread it

I don't have any reactions yet other than my echo chamber. It's on the headline of every news site currently, but it is 1 am so there's not much competition. Current headline on biggest news site is "Trump stands by extreme right. 'Not everyone are neo-nazis'".

I believe it will go over fine with Netanyahu's crowd. Blaming the left+media (and Supreme Court, which is a huge right-wing target here) is basically the day-to-day operation. They will just ignore the Nazi angle.

Obv it was completely believable...

Credit to the gun nuts, even with the cops giving them full leeway to attack the unarmed, doesn't seem like any shots were fired afaik

Trump sounded so bored talking about infrastructure. So amazing that he has absolutely no control once the questions started coming.

No

Do not give them credit for intimidating thousands of people and scaring the police from adequately controlling the situation

Unrepentant bigot, un****ingbelievable.

His poll numbers get better after his latest nuremburg rally?

It was obviously the woman's fault for happening to be under the guy's car and getting run over.

I thought it was over when Trump started his campaign calling Mexicans rapists. I was wrong.

I thought it was over when Trump trashed McCain for getting captured. I was wrong.

I thought it was over when audio came out of Trump describing his own marital infidelity and sexual assault. I was wrong.

I no longer think it's over anymore - even when Trump defends white supremacists, and shows more concern for property damage than a young woman who was killed by a nazi.

I have lost all faith in my country to do the right thing.

On the plus side, now you're right.

Sweet.

The scary thing is I think there's a good chance this will actually shift the Overton window even more, and become a big *positive* for Trump. People will forget that nazis were ever de-legitimized.

Haaretz (which is on the left) is fairly muted, and just talks about the lolpresident doubling down and blaming the left.

Approaching deep concern. Not quite there yet.

Paul Ryan, today: We must be clear. White supremacy is repulsive.
Paul Ryan, next week: There must be no delay in approving Joe Arpaio the new Secretary of Homeland Security.

Anyway, pretty impressed with how well newly minted CoS John Kelly has instilled military discipline and order on Trump.
