The best way to combat these lies is to put your serious hat on and call bull**** on the bull****. Be unrelentingly serious about what is going on. Don't find humor or joy in the fact that we live in a Kakistocracy. Treat it as the massive problem that it is.

Sure. I think it probably lowers the median outcome somewhat for the things I care about (liberal white guy in NC in my 30s married with 2 kids) but having president Pence (and no Bannon) takes most of the horrific options off of the table so the average outcome is a hell of a lot better.

On the phone with my Dad...he asks me if I knew all of the protesters at the airports were paid and organized by Soros...and then went off on all of Academia because one professor somewhere said the Green Bay Packers are more patriotic than Tom Brady because of His support for Trump.

He then tells me a heart warming story about Robert Kraff owing Trum his friendship because Trump was nice to Kraft after Kraft's wife died. Did you know that Kraft went to Donald's wedding, too? (I asked which one but he didn't hear me)

What drives me crazy is that my Dad is not a racist and has welcomed all races, gay or straight, all nationalities, into his home all of the time. If he actually SAW a refugee in need of help right in front of him, he'd take him home and feed him and give him clothing.

He's a world traveler and loves Morocco. ive date women of different color, religions, and nationalities, and he's treated all of them without fault like queens! He's the most generous man I know.

But Trump is god! This is what makes me really pessimistic...if my Dad can be this blind to the evil that this administration is doing, then what hope do we have?
