Well, on the one hand, it's a way for him to boost his approval ratings through military conflict without starting a nuclear war.

The sad truth is all a US president needs to do when faced with a popularity crisis is start a war. Both Bushes tapped in to the simplicity of the average american; Trump is just expanding on their work.

Wow, MSNBC just said the Congressional committees knew of DonJr/Jared/Manafort's meeting 3 months ago. That's 2 months before the NYT story broke, which means the lawmakers saw the lies from everyone, including Trump feeding the excuses to his son, unfolding in real time.

It's so cra cra because the Dems on these committees talk on TV about their knowledge being only around 10% or 15% of the whole TrumpRussia mess.

Anyone else think Kim won't cross the military red line? He knows that Trump's a counterpuncher who will hit back 2 to 10 times harder if you're anyone but Putin. Kim also knows we demolish him after 6 months in every simulation the Pentagon has run over the last however many years. And finally, he knows those same sims show hundreds of thousands of deaths within minutes, and (tens of?) millions after the full time period.

Kim is stupid, but he's not dumb. He wants survival first, for his regime and also for the world believe it or not. He needs his nukes too, but that's mostly for the regime to exist.

Speaking of pushing the envelope, watch this situation with the diplomats in Cuba carefully for ANY Russian fingerprints. If so, this will be the first instance of Putin harming Americans with impunity (assuming Trump doesn't break the pattern). The WH and the State Department won't talk about it. Not that it's classified or under investigation, but they just won't say anything.

The 3rd party who deafened the US (and 1 Canadian) diplomats also sent a message saying it was "payback", which is looking more and more like it's the 2nd slap in the face Russia promised to Trump for signing the sanctions bill.

Much more worried about Trump than Kim. Remember people like Trump think every problem has a simple solution - the whole "many options, all bad, some much worse than others" doesn't register.
